True, this site has a period of sluggish loading most days. But at least it still works then.
2 days ago it was so extreme that it didn't even work for me. And this happens every 2-3 week.

Oh I find that the forum section can always be loaded if you go "directly" to it, into posts or just checking history and going back to a thread.

But yeah GTmetrix puts the site in at around a 10second load compared to the average of 6.2s and it requires 263 requests in comparison to the average of 69 to load a site. Like, even on a good working day, VGchartz is going to be a sluggish site.

Front page is a joke. I am not sure how such a glitch can go on for years

I removed the front page bookmark and added one for gammrconnect instead, that seemed to solve the issue. 

Yeah it just seems to be the front page, something is gone drastically wrong there, not sure is it from a sale chart issue or a pop in advert holding up the page request, fairly shitty though.

And yeah I do the same for coming here now have a forum bookmark, it's just my default action though after reading through a thread to hit the Vgchartz logo at the top left to go back and check for updates on threads but that button is now a trap for browser death lol.
