Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Endast för Sverige - Only for Sweden: XB1 500 GB - 2190SEK

Xbox sjunker ännu mer i pris. Nu 2190 kr (inklusive FIFA16).

If you take away the 25% VAT on the Swedish price, this will be roughly equal to $220.

EDIT: The offer has ended!

Riktigt bra pris! Syrran funderar på att hoppa ombord till hösten, lär vara minst lika bra priser då :).

It's $258.29 US according to the currency converter I used, still pretty good price. I'm guessing they are trying to get rid off old inventory to get ready for the slim in August.

Det va dyrt...
I Norge hadde expert XB1 MED Quantum Break til 1700kr, og siden den norske kronen er verdt mindre enn den svenske blir vell det rundt 1500 svenske.

Predicted 15+ million lifetime-sales for God of War:

Yeah, but in the US they add tax on top of the advertised price (for some strange reason). They don't do that in Sweden. All prices advertised are exactly what you pay for the product.

I'm aware of that since I was born and raised in Germany.  But not everything in the US has added taxes most foods (exept for foods sold in restaurants they are always taxed) and some other items are tax free.  Everything sold on Amazon used to be tax free since the goods sold there used to be sold from other states but that chanced once they expanded and now they have distribution centers in almost every state.

A product advertised for $258 in the US, you'd actually pay something like $290. (Depending on the state.)
So if this deal was advertised in the US it would say something like $230.

Also sales taxes in the US are a lot lower then the VAT added to most goods in Europe.  Sales taxes are usually less then 10%.  Where I live the sales tax is 8.25%.

It is always difficult to "translate" prices across borders. Some include VAT some don't. Some people want to compare Purchasing Power Parity and include average salary in the calculation. Some have high taxes and free medicare, some have low taxes and have to buy heath insurance instead.

How to properly calculate the cost in other countries is not really easy.

Skandinavien som var en stor marknad för Xbox 360 verkar vara mycket sämre för Xbox One!

Danmark har också väldigt bra erbjudanden!

True, but considering how much money is spend and wasted on defense spending, taxes overall in the US are actually pretty low.  Plus since the US is such a large country the cost of living can vary vastly from state to state.  What can vary even more is real estate prices a equivalent of a house that is valued at one million dollars in the Los Angeles area can be easily bought for 1/10 of that money in many areas of the US.
