Forums - Sony Discussion - God of War Reveal Trailers have a total of 20+ million views

I can understand why. It's very different from the other games. It's more of an action rpg now and not a hack & slash. I was tired of the GOW formula after the second game to be perfectly honest. The series just lacked depth in most of the aspects of the games. Other series would benefit from a change such as the one GOW has gotten. For example, Assassin's creed and Devil may cry.

I think it's a little weird that you ppl are actually using yt views as some metric of a games potential audience interest .

But congrats for GoW I suppose

Lol what? That makes no sense? Why the hell would people watch this if they weren't interested. I only watch videos of games that I'm interested and I'm sure others do as well.

How many videos did you count?

I don't remember but the God of War official video has almost passed Battlefield's E3 video as most viewed and there is no other game that has a second video that has 3.4 million and then another million. And there's a bunch with 500k+, and a shit ton more with 100k+. No other game even has that many views. I stopped counting at videos with 50k views. Views are still views.

That's weird. It had a blue icon as if someone quoted me. oh well.

If tweets and "social media mentions" can be used to say which press conference generated the most interest, then YouTube views is an acceptable metric to determine interest in a game.

As someone else said, "interest" doesn't mean "I'm going to buy it". Just like Gangnam style, with over 2.5 billion views, doesn't mean it's the greatest song ever released. But, it does show that many people are interested in/like the content.

If you didn't play GOW3 you missed out on a great example Santa Monica technical prowess to rival Naughty Dogs set pieces. It looks like they have taken another cue from naughty dog when it comes to storytelling and gameplay. This has me and many others excited!

I watch lots of video game videos thati m not interested in just to see if its better than i thought

As for the views they still count but it says something when a video has like 20ml views with 3 videos compared to one with 20ml views with 10 videos. But its good to see GOW with many views but hopefully the full game has a fast batte systen than the one at e3 becausr the e3 demo just wasn't doing it for me.

That's what it means to be interested in a game, to see if it's good or not. "Showing curiosity".

It's hard to get excited much less interested in a game that you don't even own the console to play
