OK, GOWTLOZ, I won't leave you hanging this time

I'd rank them as follows:

1) Infamous
2) Infamous 2
3) Infamous: Second Son

Unfortunately for me, I found the games got worse as they went :(

The first game, in my mind, is one of the very best PS3 games. Great personality, nice mixture of platforming and open-world exploration, perfect pacing, and some great boss battles.

I admire the second game for improved graphics and UGC, but I found the pacing, voice acting, morality choices, story, and mission design inferior to the first.

With Second Son, I love the visuals. How could you not? I don't know if I've ever seen such beautiful lighting and particle effects. And I appreciate the way Sucker Punch streamlined the upgrade and mission structure. That said, Seattle for me was the most lifeless and tedious city of the bunch. The missions were boring for me and the morality choices either completely binary or uninteresting, or both. Some of the boss battles were good though. The final boss battle reminds me of the end boss battle in Metroid Prime, which is high praise :)

I feel the opposite. Sucker Punch vastly improved gameplay, graphics and feel of the city with each game. That to me is more important than story in an open world game.

Oh I agree. Gameplay trumps story everytime. But I found that gameplay suffered as the series wore on. As I said, the morality choices became more binary, the missions less engaging, the pacing more uneven, the enemy encounters more tedious, and the cities less organic. Sucker Punch certainly made the sequels more gorgeous but they missed opportunities to refine and enrich the gameplay.

I agree with the pacing and morality choices, but the missions I feel improved as the series continued. Cities in the inFamous games are its biggest flaws, they are fun to do stuff and just roam around, but they lack any kind of lore, history, a sense of place and feel pretty dead compared to Rockstar's games. They do have better mechanics though. But I feel this is an area they have a lot to improve upon.

I really enjoyed First Light actually.

inFamous 2. i liked cole better, and the story was darker. game play was great. and also
Festival of Blood was awesome.

2nd son was pretty good, but was kinda corny, and i didnt like the girl with light powers, i thought she was kinda annoying.

I played

inFamous
inFamous Second Son
inFamous First Light

I like Second Son a lot. For main character, I like Cole in inFamous a lot more.

Fair enough. I can agree about the mechanics improving. Some of the neon and concrete powers in Second Son were great. I would have loved more encounters where Delsin had to switch powers on the fly. For example, a heavy enemy that had a concrete shield that needed destroying with concrete powers and neon weak spots inside that needed to be targeted with neon. That would be so cool :D

I'd probably say...2. I liked the city in 1 more but 2 improves on a lot of things in the first game.

Second Son is still a great game, but Delsin isn't nearly as good of a character as Cole was, and the game felt a bit hollow compared to the previous 2.

Oh, and I thought Fetch was a way better character than Delsin. A whole game about her would have been better in my opinion.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Definitely the first.

InFamous: Festival of Blood (yes I am serious, I loved this game ^^)
Otherwise InFamous 1
