If not the Wii, then definitely Nintendo's next console.

Why does it seem less likely? Is the release date getting close; did Capcom make an announcement?

AS the release date looms and more and more emphasis is put on graphics, its worrisome that a Wii port would ever occur. A ways back there was still some hope, but with recent announcements hope starts to cross the line from optimism to foolishness.

I will still support this petition in hopes that it keeps it the issue in Capcom's mind when Nintendo's successor to the Wii comes out in most likely 2 years, but even if it does come out for the Wii, the results could work to the Wii's disadvantage, so who knows. At this point it just exaserbates the matter to act like there is any likelihood a Wii port will occur. Cautious optimism is the new tone of this petition and hopes shifted to plan B: it comming to Nintendo's next console.

Onimusha,when it comes to RE5 and Nintendo consoles,I´ve always thought Capcom will do to this game what they´ve done to RE4,and that is port it to a next gen system (maybe by 2012,2013),and that´ll probably be the next Nintendo home system,expected to output HD visuals and at least as powerful as the PS3 and 360.....on the other hand,what I do think will happen is Capcom will develop a new RE title for the Wii,now whether that is a new on rails title or "true" RE action remains to be seen,of course...personally,I´d LOVE...let me say it again...LOVE a RE2 remake...

Btw,you think the Wii´s successor will be released in 2 years?...strange scenario....

I know, but remember the investment initially made on the Wii was that of a home console that might be their last. What incentive was their to push the envelope. Now that they know there is a demand for their products they might be tempted to actually push a console which can compete graphically since they're aware of the harm that is causing them. But who knows.

You do realise you said that from your point of view you think AAA games would be better on YOUR console of choice giving you a better value for money.

Did it ever occour to you that the Wii owners are thinking exactly the same? RE5 being on Wii would be in THEIR MINDS the better experience for THEIR MONEY.  

The point being why do you care if Wii owners want it? Does it scare you? Does it prevent you from buying the game?

because based on your comment if everyone here said  "console that *I* think can handle them better and can give me a more enjoyable experience for my money." Well the Wii would win all the AAA games based on majority opinion.
