Forums - Gaming Discussion - Who will make games to showcase the power of Scorpio?

Crackdown 3 maybe. Would make sense to delay it so it could take full advantage of Scorpio

One renders every pixel. All 4k of them. The other renders the game at a lower resolution, then uses significantly less power than would have been needed to make copies of already rendered pixels thus creating fake pixels of the original render. Native will always look a little sharper than upscaled.

Just look at any XB0@900p game to PS4@1080p game. The XB1 is upscaling to 1080p while the PS4 is running 1080p native. The effect you notice will be less obvious when talking about 4k upscaling though cause that at the very least will still look better than native 1080p.

To OP; everyone will take advantage of the scorpio powah!!!! All games will at the very least output at 4k and may even run natively in 4k. That's the whole point of it right? All them uncompressed pixels.

Why are people so negative? I'd say every single game that is PC / Xbox One cross platform will look considerably better on Scorpio hardware. Shouldn't be that hard for (PC) developers to make the game run at "high" instead of "low" settings. Add Microsoft's first party offerings to that. Even devs who don't want to put many resources into it could simply choose to let their games run at a higher native resolution.

Same goes for PS4 Neo by the way.

Mortal Kombat will...but they'll need Nintendo's help to get N..or get out.

This isn't so simple because they need to make the game run on the original Xbox One, and the PC market have the setting options if a game don't run well they can change the settings but the same will not be possible with Scorpio, Unless they make Scorpio like the PC market where you chose your settings.

I can only see future Halo, Gears and Forza being the only games utilizing Scorpio's full potential.

Nope, Phil said that nobody would be left behind, so what ever they make will also have to be playable on XBO

But the developer can change the settings. They don't even have to optimize the game like crazy, they can just crank up the settings to the point where it looks considerably better but still doesn't drop any frames. Why would changing the settings that already exist on PC be harder for the developer than for the gamer? The option exists anyway. They just have to lock the game to a certain setting.

I never said those games I listed will only be for Scorpio but will be the games that will utilize it.

Those are MS biggest 1st party games so MS will have the power to enforce the developers of those games to utilize the Scorpio, but to keep their word as well, they'll either release a version for XB1 separately or included with the Scorpio version. (Maybe there'll be a mode in the game that you can turn on and off between 4K and 1080p)

Other than those 3 developers/games, I can't see any other developers (especially 3rd party) spending the extra time and resources just for the Scorpio, unless MS bought some kind of exclusive.
