Forums - General Discussion - Star Trek Actor Anton Yelchin Has Died in a Car Accident

That sad, and shockingly he's too young.

Rest in peace.

It's always horrible reading news like this, especially when it's somebody so young...

Can't believe it. This guy was so full of talent and quirk.

Green Room came out recently. You lot should check this out. Its got Imogen Poots and Patrick Stewart in it as well.

Charlie Bartlett, Like Crazy, Only lovers Left Alive, Fright Night all good flicks with great and Anton is great in them.

RIP

Dam, sad to hear. RIP.

He was a really good Chekov too. Way to young too pass on. RIP fellow Trekkie.

Crazy accidents to film actors are nothing new. And they happen to actors working on the same movie sometimes.
Hopefully something strange won't happen to the other actors working in the new Star Trek movie.

Huh??? did he get out of the car, didn't put the handbrake on and it rolled into him?

"Yelchin was found at his home pinned by his own vehicle and a brick mailbox early Sunday morning. The police do not suspect any foul play was involved."

I'm not sure how fast the vehicle would have to be rolling or how heavy the vehicle would have to be to crush someone to death at a slow speed.... I'm very confused at how this could happen...

I've heard of exactly that happening quite often actually. Two tons of steel on wheels doesn't need much speed to end a life.

What tends to happen is they forget to put on the brakes, then they see it rolling slightly and they rush to get back in, get tripped up, and get run over.

It's a real shame either way. RIP

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

That sucks, he was pretty good in Star Trek. I wonder what they're going to do now.. RIP

Most death in the US is caused by car accidents, and heart attacks.

Holy crap that's horrible. I can't imagine how one gets pinned by their own car as well northe  pain he must have felt. Hope it was instant.

Edit: The article explains the accident:

“On Sunday, June 19 at 1:10 in the morning, a fatal traffic collision occurred. It was the result of the victim’s own car rolling backwards down his steep driveway, pinning him against a brick mailbox pillar and security fence."
