Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Opinion: Gears 4 And Scalebound Don't Look Too Good

Gears looked fine. I don't necessarily like the feeling the demo gave that your squad-mates are leading by the hand, though. "Oh, look, if you do THIS and then THAT, we can get over THERE!" Yeah, well, why don't you go do that while I shoot things in the face, then? Other than that, I liked what I saw and the environment looks great. It should be a well-made game.

The Scalebound demo, on the other hand, did absolutely nothing for me. It seriously made me lose interest, at least for now.

Gears looked like Gears which has always been awesome. Scalebound looks good. Still early on it so it could be even better

OPINION!!!! Gears 4 and Scalebound look amazing.

Gears looked awlful. To me. And as many have said the Scalebound protag is..

I thought Gears of War 4 look amazing, but that Scalebound demo was terrible. Still excited for it though.

I think they need the emphasis the mp/co-op less. Show some of the SP.

Don't hate me too much, but I'm kind of hoping Scalebound bombs so Platinum goes back to making hack and slash games. They're the only developer on the market that consistently makes good hack and slash titles...

Gears of War 4 looked great. I didn't really like the demo they showed at e3 the Gamescom demo was a lot better but I'm still interested in the game.

Gears 4 looks fine. Will probably pick it up. Ive lost interest in Scalebound.

From everything we've seen of it, Scalebound doesn't look the way a Kamiya /Platinum game really should. With DMC, Bayonetta, and TW101 - there's a real emphasis in dodging and deploying complex combos in a strategic manner and very distinct clear rewards system for doing that. And that's not really there in Scalebound.

Visually - Scalebound should also graphically look far FAR better than Bayo 2 given X1's superior hardware. Except that it doesn't look that much better. Not to mention - the whole art direction is just a big hot mess. The music is bad, the setting still doesn't make any sense, and the main character is annoying tbh. Other Kamiya/PG games have quirky soundtracks, settings, and characters - but they're far more endearing than Scalebound.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
