i disagree scalebound looks amazing, gears 4 not so much

I'm not sure if I'd say amazing, but I'm interested in what Scalebound is doing. I guess people want a DMC/Bayonetta clone?

Watching a game like Gears 4 is never much fun. I just like playing it and the beta was no exception.

What part of any of this gives you that impression?

Personally, I was super excited for Scalebound after seeing the first trailer. An open world action game that lets you ride dragons and shit? Awesome!

Sadly...Everything we've seen since that first trailer just has not looked good at all.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I am playing UC4 and I really do not see that much differernce within the gamplay.  Besides destrutable cover what is really different from UC4 than 1 - 3.

the gameplay and platforming feel largely the same, but there are a lot of improvements in the gameplay than previous titles. they added more layers to gameplay, level desgin, physics, AI, new melee system, Stealth and new features like the rope that just all add to the gameplay experience.

- stealth. the stealth is greatly improved in UC4 over UC3, and due to the larger and more complicated levels, transition between stealth and action is pretty seamless. its pretty much the best way to complete an encounter. stealth for as long as possible, then when you are caught, fight then try to break the line of sight and ambush them when the time is right.

- Larger levels with more veriticality and space. the level desgin is top notch, and approaching each encounter will never be the same, due to how big the levels are and how enemies react in it. they created huge playgournds for the player to fight in, that include a variety of stealth, platforming, grappling, sliding, destructible cover, swiming area's (that can be used for stealth in a great way).

- AI. the AI, specially on Hard mode is a bitch. those bastards are tough, and they try to flank you and use their great numbers to their advantage. if you stay still you are doomed, because they will surround you. they force you to stay on the move, which helps other aspects of the gameplay kick in, like stealth, larger level desgin, platforming, the grapling hook and melee.

- Friendly AI, Uncharted always had friendly AI, but in UC4 they really are the best and most useful.

- More dynamic set peices are there as well, the jeep chase is the biggest example.

sure the cover mechanices feel the same as UC2/UC3 to a large degree, but UC4 does a lot more and adds a lot of features to add a lot of layers to the gameplay.

Everything you mention really sound like evolution to the current UC formula.  I agree with your points but when all is said and done, UC4 plays like a UC game with improvements to its mechanics.  This would probably be the same for Gears 4.  It looks like Gears gameplay and we know there are improvements to its mechanic but the developer definitely isn't going to mess with the core mechanics then it wouldn't be gears.  Same goes for Halo 5 etc.

Tbh, if you consider this significant innovation, then Gears has "innovated" just as much over the years. And I say this as a PC/Wii U owner with little vested interest in either. I'd honestly argue that Uncharted 4's biggest innovation is the Tomb Raider esque pick that you can use to grab onto certain wall types, more than anything. Bigger point above all else though is that its entirely possible to play Uncharted 4 and not notice much differentiation between it and past titles in the series.

Which is fine, honestly. Not every game need to reinvent the wheel, and indeed many games are better suited by not changing things up too drastically (as Star Fox Zero found out earlier this year).

I don't understand both look amzing, Gears 4 is the same awesome game with other 4 Gears and scalebound is a guy with sword to fight giant creatures with classic humor and if he want to fight seriously he wearing those headphones with that ungly music that noone ask for. How awesome is that ? is become 2 times awesome now with custom backgraound music on xbone

I...may be misinterpreting some of what this is, but I think you're asking why people think that Scalebound looks bad?

If that's the case, then it's generally because the gameplay looks boring (at least it is for me). The combat looks slow and uninspiring, and controlling the dragon seems more like a tacked on gimmick than something that flows seamlessly into gameplay. Setting aside all issues with the protagonist, it's just not something that it seems like I could pick up and enjoy.

I guess we'll see, though. I thought the same about Okami and I was dead wrong there.

So, this is the mother of the other thread that state exactly the oposite ?.

I don't know much about Gears of War 4 so I will not comment the game, it just looked fine.

Scalebound did not appeal to me and it seems that they are trying to appeal for a more western audience than anything else, the Xbox One already have a lot of western games and the console need something more Japanese, this game don't have the same feel as the previous Platinum Games (I mean that this looks more western), Devil May Cry and Bayonetta were a good mix of Japanese and Western influences but it seems that Scalebound lack this kind of thing, maybe because of Xbox One's biggest install base purchase more Action and Western based games.

Even Quantum Break din't sold well on the Xbox One, and the game tried something different from the usual Xbox User's purchase.

I'm not sure why Uncharted is being discussed here but we have seen similar improvements and added features throughout Gears series. I'm sure there will be improvements in Gears4 also. But there's only so much you can do without messing up the core gameplay and feel of Gears, Judgment tried to add more verticality and it didn't sit right for example.

Stealth in Gears of War? Hell no, but maybe they add something else.

Pissing match, I guess.

Uncharted 1 was my second PS3 game (the first was mgs4) and after that, every other Uncharted was a day one purchase.

Gears was the third or fourth that I got for 360. After that, each have was a day one purchase.

With each new entry, both games gave evolved a lot. People who've only played one won't see it, of course. People who play both can't deny it. We've seen u4 with its grappling hook and butt slide. Let's wait and see what Gears 4 brings to the table.

I am late but I think Gears 4 looks AMAZING.....doesn't have the gritty look I miss from Gears 1(which was my favorite gears by the way) but it definitely looks great! Scalebound looks cool I still have hopes for it!

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

Well i lost alot of hype i had for scalebound but on the other hand i gained hype for gears 4. The flying part in scale bound reminds me too much of Liar back on PS3 and thats not a good thing. Im still holding out hope that it will be good. Are both of these coming to PC or will i have to get buy another X1?

Yeah, I noticed that too. They both look similarly awkward, and even the design of the dragons, the fireball effects, and the overall graphical look are eerily similar.
