Forums - Nintendo Discussion - To the Wii u owners who thought zelda was enough for E3...

What do you plan on doing for the rest of 2016?

Since no third party games were announced and zelda is coming in 2017, what is there left for 2016? At least ps4 players, xbox one players, and pc players have many third party games that will be padding out the year (along with some first party games like the last gaurdian). How can one game that won't come out this year be considered a successful E3 for Nintendo when nothing else was shown for the wii u for this year?

I play my backlog. And get Tokyo mirages.

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023

10 years greatest game event!

I hope many people aren't getting the notion that I am trying to downplay the wii u.

Personal opinions aside, the wii u still has upcoming games (like FExSMT and paper mario). However, this thread is focusing on what was shown at E3 (because E3 just happened of course).

Personally I am frustrated with the wii u E3 lineup (if we can call it a lineup), but that is not the same as saying that the wii u has no games.

Then you opened the thread wrong. You're getting the answers for the question you asked, not the answers you intended to hear. Try again.

I can't imagine anyone would have solely gamed on just the WiiU since it launched. The droughts would have been enough to push away even the most hardcore fans.

Actually my work leaves not enough time to play my games, so WiiU should have been enough. Sadly though I also own a 3DS, so my backlog is enormous.

And Nintendo has more interesting games than most think, as I also play fun little download-titles. Most here seem to discard them from the start.

I have a ridiculous backlog on both my One and my U. I'm actually glad Zelda is a long time away, because I want to play other games, but when that sucker comes out I think it will consume me.

Funny, I couldn't see myself with another 8 gen console. Because I wouldn't be using it.

Maybe in 2020, by that time Crash and God of War will probably release. But NX... so maybe no

We reap what we sow

Perhaps for people with a ridiculous amount of spare time, the Wii U wouldn't be enough. For me, it is. I'm still playing the new Xenoblade. I'll pick up TMS#FE and the new Paper Mario this year, plus a couple of indies and Splatoon (which I still haven't gotten around to buying).

Aside from that, if I'm really itching for things to play, there are a few good indie releases, there's my backlog that's been growing over the past 20 years, and there's PC (where I'm probably going to pick up We Happy Few, but to be honest very little else on the horizon for this year looks interesting to me). That'll suit me just fine.

I never thought of that. There is not more games I'm looking forward to on WII U. Might as well sell it.

I'd have sold mine about a year ago, but I decided I'll probably keep it just for collection purposes. I hate it but there's not many of them out their, in comparison to other consoles at least. Might be quite rare in a decade or two.

One thing I found is never sell video games or consoles.  They simply don't pay you that much and they will always be worth more in the future.  The more rare games can go for 2-4x the original cost within a few years.  I remember when the Virtual Boy went on discount and I wanted to pick one up at an outlet store.  They were selling them for 25-30 bucks I believe and now Virtual Boys go for at least 100-150 in semi decent shape. Still in box ones can go for 200-400.

Yep, there is a thing called Nintendo and PC combo.  It is a combo that has never disapointed me.  I can basically get all the third party games that don't make it to Nintendo systems.

Yup, bought an n64 about 4 years ago, it and the games I got with it are already worth twice as much as I bought them for.
