It just hasn't opened in a lot of big markets yet. I am sure it will gross $500M+ overseas.

It already opened in the biggest overseas market China and it disappointed there since Zootopia almost made $200 million dollars more there and so far its been underperforming in all the overseas markets it opened so far.   I'm guessing it will make less then Finding Nemo overseas so less then $555 million and Finding Nemo didn't play in China because China wasn't the biggest overseas market back in 2003.

We'll see.

Pixar movies in China:

Why the hell did Monster University so well compared with the rest lol

Is a fun movie, I liked it but compared with others... it must be a cultural thing, do they love films with monsters on it?

"WALT DISNEY STUDIOS MOTION PICTURES INTERNATIONAL

Finding Dory has swum past the $600m mark globally, with its $423m North American bow making it the biggest film of 2016 in the market.

Overseas, the latest Disney/Pixar outing grossed $29.7m from its 40 territories for $220.2m to date. In South Korea, it recorded the highest opening weekend for a Pixar release with $7.1m, while in Taiwan, it posted a chart-topping $1.9m.

Holdover-wise, Finding Dory added $3.8m in Australia with a fall of only 8% to retain the top spot for the fourth straight weekend and reach $30.1m and in Brazil, it posted a $5.1m second weekend for $17.1m so far.

The results mean that The Walt Disney Studios has reached the $5bn threshold at the global box office in industry record time, and marks the second consecutive year that Disney has done so."

They already have next year planned out too^
Beauty and the Beast being just one that I know already, I am sure the rest of you know more.

I must say that Dory is shocking me overseas! Domestic will continue to hit it hard, but in two weeks Ice Age is out, which if good, is bound for a billion as well.

I wouldn't worry too much about how it is currently doing overseas.

If Dory doesn't hit $500M overseas, then you get complete profile picture control over me, for the rest of 2016. :)

That not much of a bet since the final overseas numbers for Finding Dory are not going to be out until sometime in November or later since it doesn't open in Germany until September the 29th.  Having that stacked overseas release probably is hurting its overseas numbers also they should have done it like Zootopia and pretty much open everywhere about the same time.

Then let me change it to 2017. Better? :)

I'm sure it will get to $500 million dollars overseas eventually but unless it comes close to making almost $100 million in both the UK and Japan its not going to happen anytime soon (not before October).  My original though was that its final world wide gross would be somewhere between Zootopia and Captain America: Civil War no I think it will make slighly less then Zootopia and barely make more then a billion world wide.

It will not make it as far as I hoped either now due to Pets.

What were you hoping for? :)

It will make it eventually just not anytime soon even if it does very well in both the UK and Japan it probably still will need the box office from Germany to cross the billion mark.  Pets is doing very good for a new IP domestically its ahead of both Zootopia and Inside Out after 5 days. Pets made $131 million after 5 days domestically, Inside Out made $113 after 5 and Zootopia only made $84 million after 5 but its legs where pretty good since it almost made as much domestically as Inside Out and its box office run isn't quiet over yet since it still playing in a few theaters domestically but it should be over very soon.

Remains to be seen if Finding Dory can make up for the fact that it is tracking $200M behind Zootopia in China can make it up from the US BO.
