I can't wait to watch Finding Dory, it releases in my country until July 15th. Finding Nemo is one of my favorite movies ever, so a sequel is like a dream come true for me.

It's odd that Mexico usually isn't the first or one of the fist Spanish speaking markets where the big US studios release their major releases.  Besides the US and Canada only Brazil is a bigger market then Mexico when it comes to potential box office revenue in the Americas.  But since the revenue of the US and Canada is always lumped together there is actually no way of knowing of how big a market actually is when it comes to box office revenue.

You mean, you don't know how big the Canadian market is? It's fair to estimate that the size of the Canadian market is around 10% the size of the US market, and this hold's true for most things.

Finding Dory will not make 1bil as international market isn't picking up steam. Pixar's 'billion' luck have shifted to Disney's studios.

I wouldn't be so sure, it still hasn't opened in a lot of markets and it could still make up towards $100-150m more from the markets it has opened in.

Total as of July 4th - $548,345,558

- Egypt
- Saudi Arabia
- South Korea
- Pakistan
- Taiwan
- Hong Kong
- Mexico
- Japan
- UK
- Ireland
- Estonia
- Lituania
- Finland
- Norway
- Sweden
- Greece
- Turkey
- Italy
- Austria
- Germany

If your estimates are correct, then the movie won't be hitting the $1B.

Such a great movie! Started off slow, but the ending was extremely impactful. Need to get back into watching some of these Disney movies. Such classics.

These aren't estimates, they are box office results. :)

Will I like it if I thought the first one was forgettable?

Zootopia ran for 17 weeks in the domestic box office, grossing $340,774,225.
Finding Dory has been in theaters for 2 weeks and has already grossed $380,545,558.

Zootopia grossed $176,786,320 after its 2nd week.

Finding Dory is heading towards $500-550M at the domestic box office.

I don't see a scenario where Finding Dory doesn't gross 1B world wide.

BFG coming for that title!

Right?

Depends how well it does in rest of the big territories where it still has to open.
