Forums - Sony Discussion - What is the PS4 Neo?

Sony have already said that Playstation VR is a platform Here , they also said that PlayStation Neo will not have any exclusives.  Where does this leave games like Batman: Arkham VR, and what does this mean? Will it run on a PS4? or do we need a PS4 Neo?

Exclusive to Playstation VR means it's not coming to Oculus/HTC Vive, yes it will run on an Original ps4, it'd be hard for it to be exclusive to the NEO when that won't be out in October.

The Neo is a more powerful ps4 that runs ps4 games at a higher graphical fidelity than the original ps4.

PSVR runs on the PS4. The PSVR is a platform, not a peripheral and so that's why it says exclusive to PSVR.

The PS5 Exists.

So why can't it have exclusive's if PSVR is a platform,? platforms are based on hardware, are they not?

Because it requires the PS4 to run it. Think of it as a Blu-ray player that requires an HDTV. You wouldn't expect a Blu-ray player advert to include the words 'TV not included'.

It does have exclusives, games you can play only on psvr that won't work on a regular ps4 without the headset. This thread is somewhat confusing to me

I really struggle to understand why other people don't understand.

"Not October".
