Forums - Gaming Discussion - Nintendo has a communication problem with it's Fanbase.

I guess it can be left open if people still want to discuss it, the OP is a complete mess though and I can't be bothered to reword the point I was trying to convey and remove the points that are mute/illogical.

That's fine, I just want to make sure you don't regret having it locked. I don't agree with everything in the OP, but the discussion itself seems fine, and you bring up a good point in essence.

Anyhoo, just say something if you change your mind.

Reporting your OP is preferred, though I happen to be reading this so I can take care of it.

Are you sure you want it locked though? It's still fairly active and your OP brings up a decent point, at least in principle.

Admitting you're wrong on the Internet? That is a admirable thing, and it shows that you are a mature and reasonable person.

Why does modern Nintendo have fans again?

I'm now filled with determination.

to make games that the fans enjoy

And those games that fans enjoy are typically quality games. The OP doesn't directly say it, but quality is what it all boils down to.

ok, but Nintendo still has a very solid track record of making high quality releases despite having some duds in the mix. The OP pointed put a few negatives while completely ignoring alot of the positive things they have done.

No, actualy games that OP mentione proves nothing, beacuse basicly all games he mentione are only small projects/spinoof for curent users to fill gap until NX arives, there is nothing strange about that.

So because Mario Party and Paper Mario are small projects it's ok to repeatedly ignore feedback? What does that have to do with anything?

How actualy Mario Party and Paper Mario proves they ignoring feedback!? You have new Zelda like fact they dont ignore feedback.

I'm one of those people who liked Super Paper Mario far more than the others, I'd love to see a sequel of the game, without the paper gimmick. Mario RPG2 would be awesome as well.

this is all well and good. But do people really want a family fun home console? cause judging by the sales of Wii u i would have to say they dont

Are you really trying to attribute Wii U's failure solely on that fact that its has a family-friendly image?

It aint helping. And lets thrown Gamecube up in there too.

ok and lets also throw in NES, SNES, GB, GBA, DS, Wii which were all market leaders with a strong family friendly image.

I was talking home consoles, should've made that more clear. NES had no competition. SNES was released in a time when video games were still very much for children. The family friendly image doesnt help consoles anymore, there is a reason why teh best selling ones of the past decade havent had it. Wii sure, but people were buying that cause of motion control (i know i did) how well would Wii have sold without it?

The problem with your example is that SONY does not own the rights to Crash Bandicoot, Activision does.  Pretty much everything being complained about Nintendo are franchises they definitely own.

On the other hand, people are definitely fighting over the new direction of God of War.

It's an example the OP listed. An example of Sony listening to its fanbase. But it's not like it stops there. In recent years Sony tanked SOCOM, Twisted Metal, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royal, The Order 1886, the Vita on the whole... the point is it's easy to come up with a lengthy list of negative examples for the console manufacturer that the OP mentioned as what Nintendo should strive for. Since I am at it, neither Shenmue or Final Fantasy are Sony IPs, so what's left of the four examples the OP listed is The Last Guardian which has gone through development hell and isn't a positive example at all when you really think about it. It's an example of ill-advised gamer gratitude because people are now grateful that the game is coming out at all; Sony messed it up, then fixed their mess after a long time.

And on the other side of the argument the OP managed to omit Zelda. It's a bad thread. It's terrible. It's incredibly onesided. It's a good example of starting with a conclusion and then cherrypicking the facts that fit said conclusion. The point I am making isn't that Nintendo is flawless, it's that the thread is garbage.

We can definitely agree that the thread is garbage.
