Forums - Gaming Discussion - Lets face it, 4k is a Scam

4K is real HD for me, it'S clear no matter the distance you stand from the TV which isn't the case for 1080p

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Projectors are a nice way to get a really big image for relatively cheap, but there's something to be said about direct light rather than reflected light.

I prefer reflected light, more cinematic feel :)
However every time I turn the old 32" HD ready CRT tv back on it feels a bit like magic. The image is just a bit more, erm, electric. Plasma and LCD always feel dull by comparison. Perhaps OLED has that magic again.

Yup, but projectors have come a long way.... like you honestly wouldn't believe how good an image with a projector is if properly set up.

4k is a moneygrab like hd and fullhd thats all

I Hate REMASTERS

I Hate PLAYSTATION PLUS

I can easily see pixels on a 1080 screen larger than 50" from about 8 feet away which is where i sit from my TV. 4k is definitely not a scam... I would never buy a 1080p screen unless i was going less than 50 inches. As far as computer monitors go, 1440p is a minimum and 4k is the standard anymore. Anything less just looks like ass once you've experienced it.

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

The new JVC projectors are suppose to be the best value wise

But it is no native 4K projector. It has still native 1920x1080 resolution and has to use tricks to simulate a higher resolution:

I'm sure that this 1080p projector has a much better picture quality than my almost 10 year old 1080p projector, but when I invest over €5000 in a new model, it should have a higher native resolution.
