Forums - Gaming Discussion - Sony Tries to Downplay Microsoft’s Project Scorpio Hardware Power

"This Xbox One will allow full native 4K gaming at 60fps thanks to its 6 TFLOPs GPU. For those who don’t know much about GPU horsepower, that’s roughly equivalent to the highest end PC graphics cards available at the moment (think a Nvidia 980 or 1080)."

LOL OP you have no idea what you are talking about but you should check this video from a 10Tflop card and how it struggles to run games on 4K 60fps but good luck to Xbox One doing that ROFL LMAO

How is no one talking about the fact they are abandoning the xbox one? That is the big thing about this. Xbox one doesn't have VR but the Scorpio is supposedly able to do that. It seems that there will be scorpio only content which is the big difference with Neo.

They said "Full Native 4K Gaming" this does not means Triple A games or that more than 1 game will have 4K 60fps native, of course the Scorpio can run Minecraft at 4K 60FPS.

You really think so? Ever since the PS2 Sony have done nothing but try to brag about their own hardware. Remember the Motion Engine? They made majority of their fan base believe the PS2 was more powerful than the Gamecube. Remember Cell for the PS3? Made it out like its a super computer and guess what the fans did, they listened. PS4 they bragged about 1080p, have you notice what the most talked about subject when it comes to game visuals are this gen? Yup 1080p. Sony might not have had the most powerful consoles in the past, but Sony themselves claimed they were. They just failed at creating the most powerful console. Neo was another step into that same direction but it seems MS might have them beat this time around so guess what Sony are doing now.. Downplaying it. Yes they care about power and now there already making excuses.

Maybe its not me thats the bias one here.

Yes, you are the on biased here, very biased, it's not like I didn't knew it, though, you keep proving it every time you come to post something.

The whole power bragging started within the earlier years of the 360 vs PS3, while the game was easier to develop for and people started taking shots on Sony for having inferior games, while it changed mid gen and with this gen and now I have to read Sony gaming view is all over power, ffs.

Sony didn't even mentioned the Scorpio, this article and thread is pure click bait with very clear intentions, bearing fruits with people like you that read what you want to read to reach the made up conclusions you want to reach anyway, to support your bias.

Don't worry, Sony doesn't need to downplay anything, Sony gaming view is so far way broader than MS gaming view that's ridiculous to even try to discuss it, PlayStation has always been about the game, since the PS1 and up until now, PS allowed this market to go so much wider and filled with variety for gamers to enjoy what they want and be filled with so many games they can't even get to play all they want because there is so much being offered with PS where it always mattered, the games.

PS1 and PS2 where hard proof devices of pure dominance that depict very well that's Sony view is all about, delivering games, games and more games, for gamers to enjoy. And the PS3 and PS4 are no different just because they had stronger hardware than other consoles, PS3 could even revert a loss situation against price point, backslash and competition rise just with game after game making more and more people want to go back and join it to enjoy those games, as it's what always mattered for gamers, games, that's why they were and are with PS now with the PS4, the games, that just don't stop coming, that's Sony gaming view.

PS is so much bigger for gaming than your and others people hate that you fighting to put it down to meet your personal motivations is so sad that the only thing I can feel about it is pity.

I stopped reading after your first paragraph. Im talking about a subject, and your too busy talking about me. Seems like you have a grudge. If your not willing to hold a proper debate then im out.

The only grudge here is of the Tonberry's Lantern

The Scorpio sounds really cool, but if it really can game natively in 4K it will cost at least $1499.00
It takes two $1000.00 graphics cards to do 4K gaming on PC. That's just the cards!
A mass produced box might get the price down, but it is still going to be expensive.
The PS4K Neo will destroy the Scorpio because the performance will be really good and the cheaper price will win.

No it doesn't. But you do need at-least an $800 AUD GPU to do it. :P
A $199 Polaris card will likely not be enough though, which is the equivalent GPU that will end up in the Scorpio and Neo boxes. (Or a derivative of.)

They aren't really abandoning the Xbox One. They are added another product into the product stack, the vanilla Xbox One/Xbox One S won't dissapear, it will just be the budget option.

VR requires a significant investment anyway.

neither Polaris10 or Polaris11 seem quite powerful enough to meet what was announced. personally I would not trust wikipedia as a source for anything. regardless VEGA10 rumours have it "supposedly" coming in at around 7-8tflops at launch, which if even close to true would mean this could be in the ballpark, but can't see how that could be made affordable.

And it's neither. The later models perform nicely, but none beyond 5TFlops. I think this will be a custom one rather than a Vega one (and hell, they are the same thing, just higher up!)

They aren't the same thing exactly, unless you know something I don't?
Vega will have significant deviations over Polaris in order to maintain efficiency and reduce bottlenecks in the chip, you can't just double the shader count and keep everything the same.

You should learn to differentiate op opinion and articles posted. Anyway, I'll take your word over MS engineers any day of the week.

Like Windows Phone being the future right? Or Kinect going to help Xbox One right? Or even better, Windows 8 being the best OS ever and future proof or Xbox One having the power of 1000 pcs thanks to the Cloud looool

MS PR = Lies after Lies after LIES!

The cloud is taking so long to arrive that the Xbox One will e 3-4 years old before any game with the Cloud start coming out.

Proper debate? I know your posting pattern very well, of course I already knew there would never be one to begin with.

And don't worry, it's no grudge, you never did anything to me, I have nothing against you, just with your agenda, it's just that what you try to push here is lame, really, really lame.

Anyway, it's better if we drop this, indeed, 'till next time you try to give Sony another nonsense low blow.

You still dont get it.
