And that's kinda what I meant by Nintendo putting a spinn on it =) I love how integrated it all is! How the stamina meter is back, and used in such clever ways! It's not just a limiting factor to how long you can run fast, but also how many spinn atacks you can perform, and most importantly, how it restricts your climbing. Nintendo has put that meter to good use!

The same goes for hunting and eating to replentish your health, that's one of the most exciting things about this game for me!

Yeah, I also love how things like temperature are taken into account; it grows colder not only by region and by night, but also with elevation, and you can address it by dressing warmly or by consuming hot/spicy food/drink. (Presumably the opposite applies to hot areas like the desert at midday)

Honestly, I could rant on and on about how many of the little details and nuances in Breath of the Wild I just adore. This is how I wanted 8th gen games to be; less about more pixels and flashier shaders, and more about how much you can do within the world; extensive interactivity with the environment, seamless exploration, etc.

Couldn't agree more with what you wrote! This feels like a true 8th gen game! It's not simply more of the same, this game adds so much more

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I'll be honest to me it still looks like a basic Zelda game to me, just with a much larger world and perhaps the influence of games like Far Cry/Skyrim, which is to be expected because the Wii U is so much better tech wise than the GameCube/Wii.

Remember the Zelda series hasn't really had a generational leap in processing power since 2003 with Wind Waker really, that's like 13 years ago (!) now.

Don't get me wrong it looks good, but it looks more like they are catching up to where the rest of the industry has been for a while.

I'll be impressed if the more sci-fi-ey theme at the beginning actually factors into the game and its environments (as in you can travel into a tech-filled future). *That* would pretty bold for the Zelda series.

Yes. I'm pretty excited as a Zelda fan, and the possibilities with all the new mechanics, but from the trailer alone... it was clearly aimed at Zelda fans like me to show us part of the new additions.

Which is way I compared to the Skyward Sword reveal in 2010, with all the new mechanics. Guess BotW was more exciting than SS.

==================

***In regards of the story. I read that Nintendo said during the Treehouse, that this Link was awaken after an 100 years slumber. Same 100 years that Calamity Ganon has being in Hyrule. Does this Link failed at the first time? Or maybe he fought another foe and afyer he went in slumber, Calamity Ganon appear?

Has anyone else have speculated that maybe this Link is completely new and 100 years before BotW he had a battle we never knew? He is not the Hero of Time/Wind/Twilight etc. And fuck the timeline.

Finally, Aonuma stated that the towns will be releated to the story. Complementing with Bill's comment, it seems that NPC will give you either a tidbit about the story or a sidequest. So not maybe the involvenmt people expected. Maybe we won't have to build villages like some at the web were starting to speculate.

It seems like the reward for exploring the world is the story itself. Exploring and talking with NPC we'll know about Link, Zelda, Calamity Ganon and maybe that battle 100 years before that we don't know about it (so far).

A clear wink to SS story estructure about the HyliavsDemise battle in the past.

***Another topic is about the SS relation. I can't get out of my head that BotW is in scense what SS should have been. That floating isle in the footage of BotW (or maybe a beast?) could have been a good Skyloft.

Hyrule is wild, uncharted. Just like it was in SS. On top of that, Fi made more sense in an open world game than in a linear one. In BtoW we can go anywhere, but we'll have Fi as our guide for the main story. Now add the dowsing system and we are more clear.

***Now about items. I didn't see any item that resembles the hookshoot, dominion rod or spinner. I didn't even see an item screen or button. In the demo layout, the d-pad functions are: above-runes, right-weapon, left-shield, below- it seems to be a function to call Epona.

A for action and sprint. B ???. X jump and Y for item ( I believe).

In the inventory we had a screen for weapons, other for shield, clothes, food, and one for the Sheikah slate which seems to be for important items. Maybe there?

The game seems to be focused on combat and more logical organical puzzles with the same weapons, like cutting a tree to create a bridge, so I'm not sure if we'll see traditional items.

Just wanted to share with all of you guys.
