W.H.Y.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I'm not a mario fan, but i don't get the hate. The game looks interesting to me. I'm not quite sure what the expectation is here.

I would still prefer a second Super Paper Mario game, as I loved that entry the most in the series personally. But a game where you run around and paint the world doesn't sound bad. I just need to hear more about the game itself.

No characters and likely no story with a barebones battle system that's pointless looks quite interesting? I simply expect good games, not shitty ones.

Anything that isn't specifically traditional RPG Paper Mario, or for some reason more specifically, anything that isn't The Thousand Year Door (GC game), is shit all over by fans of that game.

On the one hand I can understand it, because I've been wanting a REAL Star Fox game, in the SF64 mold, WITHOUT any dumb, tacked on gimmicks, and preferably a NEW story, etc., for years, and I don't get one. Every time Nintendo announces a new SF game, like Zero, it winds up having some dumb gimmick, or in Zero's case, also winds up basically being SF64 Remix.

But on the OTHER hand, I loved Super Paper Mario a lot, and a lot of these same fans shit all over that as well, even though to me, it was a more fun/creative game. I don't DISLIKE the first two Paper Mario games. They're fun, good RPGs. I just liked the Super Paper Mario style better, a platformer with rpg elements. I'd love to see them make another like that, and EXPAND upon it.

Sticker Star, despite selling as much as The Thousand-Year Door if not moreso now, was not as engaging as TTYD to these users so they lambast it like a sorrowful hive-mind (not saying the game was all that great, but even I'm not that frothing-at-the-mouth aggitated at it like those thumbs-downing the new trailer or OP here).

If at a discount somewhere, I may give the game an honest shot instead of blindingly generalizing it because it's not TTYD 2 like so many here baselessly hoped for.

The opened-minded will always take all possibilities into consideration. The close-minded will not even attempt to go beyond their one-track perceived notions.

The art style looks pretty good. Not long ago sony was making a fuss about Tearaway with its paper craft and this looks even better. Much like a coloring book.

Now wether the gameplay is good or not, i don't know.

People sure hate this game.lol

Of course it wont be as great as the first two, but I'm just glad we`re not getting another Super Paper Mario.

The graphics look good and the dialogue seems to have improved a bit, though I still feel skeptical. Since those cards seem like stickers, I'm guessing that battles will still be more or less pointless and it doesn't seem we are getting many new characters. Hopefully the story gets more interesting and deep then what we've seen so far
