Forums - Sony Discussion - More new God of War info

This is obviously training for the kid who will probably take over in the sequel. I like the dynamic the kid adds. Maybe now we can have some serious character development in GoW.

Will be an aventure like uncharted? or "Semi-Open world"? I though he said (Balrog) about that and was "not open world" but big scale exploration...

The term that Sony hae used (since TLOU) is 'open linear'. Open enough to fullfill a sense of exploration but linear enough to have tighter narrative control.

Love it! I dont really like Open worlds games... (Like GTA)... But I love RPGs like Dragon Age! :D

What a shame, his son don't even know how to shoot and he will follow Kratos throught all the journey ?.

Didn't you see his son get experience points?

The PS5 Exists.

- Kratos and son will be together thoughout the game

- his son knowledge and expertise will evolve throughout the game

- the son "becomes an active participant in combat, traversal, exploration, and puzzle-solving"

- camera angle from behind Kratos shoulder will remain

If that's true I don't blame some people for making TLOU comparisons. Hope they execute it well.

Not sure why they're attached to Kratos. Makes NO sense to have him in another mythology. Also they could have a new character to explore. Missed opportunity imo and I'm less interested because of his inclusion. This coming from a guy who has gotten 7 platinums from GoW over the years.

Like it made sense that a man, turned spawn of ares becomes the God of War then goes on to kill every other God in Olympus and their dog.....

This is fiction, pure fiction, they can do anything they want.

Why does every Sony exclusive need to have a companion that undergoes cliche emotional changes. We already have The Last of Us for that. I also don't like the hack and slash gameplay being taken out and the over the shoulder camera. Different but bad decisions were made.

Define "every".

People complained about the "baby sitting" with Ellie before TLOU released. But in the end...
Definitely interested, but we've not seen enough to a conclusion

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

Christopher Judge is the man! I love Stargate :)

Still not really interested in the game, but I'm so glad he's the head honcho.

I guess they're trying to show that Kratos is the God of War in any mythology? Maybe at the end of this game he'll end up killing the Norse God of War... which is Tyr, right? (I'm gonna' need to refresh my memory of Norse Gods, lol) and taking his place, and it'll basically become a rehashed story of the original trilogy, set in a new mythology?

I'm still not sure about this either way though, I DO think it'd have made more sense to have a new character rather than Kratos again, especially since I'm still not sure if this is supposed to fit in with the story we already know, or the beginning of something new? And the idea of having the kid with you throughout the whole game makes me feel like it'll be a lot more tamer, since Kratos will probably want to resist from showing his anger and rage in front of him...

... Yeah, not sure what I think about it, as I said before, lol

I just looked up who is the God of War in Norse, and you're right it is Tyr. He's a Wiki page on him:

https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyr

He's the god of single combat, so if Kratos does have to kill him, we'll have a brutal close combat fight with him.

EDIT : Wiki also says that Odin is the god of war, as well as many other things.

You are generalising.
