After a while I really came to like how stamina worked. Honestly, the game seems to have many familiar elements from the survival genre mixed in with Zelda gameplay and almost a Talos puzzle/ruins vibe. The survivalist stuff really adds to it, as it makes you prepare for certain climates/weather and plan your climbs as stamina is short.

Really, I think it works based on what I saw. If there's really a mode of travel that they used again and again it's climbing high somewhere and using that sail to float lol, and snowboarding (or snowshielding rather) looked pretty damn awesome as well.

While it's nice to have new ways to move around, they are very situational and climbing in itself takes a long time

I'm assuming there will be some sort of warping feature so hopefully that will be convenient to use

I don't know if someone else posted this, but there's some good news for you... based on this footage I walked of Projared playing with some Nintendo peeps, the map appears to function like a Bethesda game where you can fast travel to places you've visited:

Oh nice, this warping feature is better than I expected! If what I am seeing is what I think I'm seeing, then this will definitely be better than Xenoblade X's quick travel

Twilight Princess is 3.5 square kilometers in size. That means Breath of the Wild is 42 square kilometers. Or about 10.5% the size of Xenoblade Chronicles X.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Im sorry, but what your problem? You just downplay Nintendo at every turn, even when they show great things. One thing is being critical, other thing is just trying too hard to get under people skin.

Lol I think you don't get the reference

IGN is known for stupid criticism.

This specific examples refers to one of their horrible reviews for pokemon alpha sapphire and omega ruby. They took points off for the WATER BASED AREA supposedly having "too much water". They ended up giving the games 7.8/10

Of course, this made IGN and game critics into an even bigger joke

Oh I did get the reference.I got a bit pissed because of his post history, where he was just bashing Nintendo or anything he didnt like with... intensity.I think this comment just made me snap for a moment, thats why.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

BOTW is said to be 140 miles going by what's been coming out of E3.

I saw that first image and laughed, then I scrolled down and it all made sense.

Can you link the source of this? The 12 times TP and the various estimations done seem to contradict this.

But like I said in my earlier, post it is much more vertical than most games.

You should recalculate.

They never mention how they approximated the 1 sq-km per square. Seems like an assumption to me.

I think it is better to go off what Nintendo has said (twelve times TP) , especially since it has matched all analyses of the map that use different methodology (besides this one.) If they described how they estimated I could comment on whether it was a good estimation or not. Also, it doesn't seem like you could fit 120 of the demo areas into the map, which would be the implication with their area estimates.
