Forums - Gaming Discussion - Opinion: Only Sony and Nintendo Have Exclusives, Now

So only Sony and Nintendo got exclusive games now

They are kind of making the Xbox one second fiddle to PC. I mean, Windows 10 is on hundreds of millions of machines, it only makes sense to seize that gaming opportunity.

i think its a great idea. Why fight an uphill battle, when you can get money through a platform that youre more known for anyway. IMHO they should have been doing this day one.

This is the message I got from E3. There is no exclusive on xbox. I got a PC so I got every xbox games. Only Sony and Nintendo got exclusives now.

What's the point to have an xbox when you already have a PC ?

And we XBox gamers are happy that you are supporting our favorite publisher :). This must also mean that, since PSNow is available on PS4 and PSVita, more and more PS3 games were never exclusive really, they are after all available on another platform ;)?

So you are going to buy the xbox console exclusives for your PC?

i am not interest at all in them, the only game which interests me is Scalebound. But its not enough to either buy an Xbox One or upgrade my Graphicscard and Windows

If that was the case Sony would be releasing their games to PC but they don't. They most likely negotiated a lower price for SFV by allowing them to release it on PC.

Or Sony doesn't see the value in releasing every game on a platform that they don't own (like MS do with W10) and thus don't get the same cut from.  Either way it is pretty clear to me, and even a few others here, that console devs do not see PC gaming as a direct competitor.

Windows 10 isn't a Plataform, it is a OS that operate a Plataform, The PC is a Plataform of everyone at the same time that it is a plataform of nobody.

Sony can make a Store on All the Windows, Linux, IOS, and they would get 100% of the sales and would own their own "Plataform" just like Steam don't have to pay nothing for Microsoft for each sale in Steam's Store.

The difference is that Sony would sell less consoles if they release their games on PC, while it seems that Microsoft don't bother too much about Console Sales.

And the Windows Store's users does not means nothing because great part of the users were forced to update, a even greater part isn't gamers, and a big part will not purchase games from Windows Store. Look at Tomb Raider it sold 98% on Steam, meaning  2% or less for the Windows Store (it can mean even less if Square Enix sold the game on their store).

There is no point, which is why PC players will all get a Neo instead. It's not a problem though. Windows 10 is a lot more important than their Xbox. They don't have to "win" anything with Scorpio. It's just another choice in their portfolio.

Sony and Nintendo release their games exclusively on their systems.

Microsoft is is one gen closer to releasing games on Playstation and Nintendo consoles, that's going to happen after Scorpio sales plummet.

Microsoft also releases its games exclusively on their systems (except Minecraft and some smaller touchscreen games).

Are Forza 5, Dead Rising 3, Ryse, Forza Horizon 2, Halo MCC, Sunset Overdrive, Ori and the Blind Forest, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Forza 6 / Apex, Halo 5, Killer Instinct, Quantum Break available or announced for Linux, Steam OS, OS X / macOS, PlayStation or Nintendo consoles?

Or will ReCore, Forza Horizon 3, Gears of War 4, Dead Rising 4, Halo Wars 2, Scalebound, Crackdown 3 or Sea of Thieves announced for Linux, Steam OS, OS X / macOS, PlayStation or Nintendo consoles?

What this have to do with Microsoft releasing all their games at the same day and hour for the PC ?, Uncharted 4, God of War, Horizon, and The Last Guardian will all stay exclusive for years to come, Microsoft is releasing all their games for the PC and this will damage the Xbox One, and if Xbox Scorpio is much expensive they will not be able to sell well worldwide.

Oh but see in this regard windows 10 actually is the platform.  MS has come out and said these games are Xbox and Windows 10 exclusive.  So no Steam, no Mac, no Linux.

Steam doesn't have to pay MS, but they do have to pay for the infrastructure to have that digital storefront on PC.  Sony would have to do the same.  At a point where they saw it as a better opportunity than not doing, they would dive in.  With their business model, MS is in a better position to do so with their Win10 store than Sony would be in making one themselves, thus why it is happening.

And if Sony could release their games on PC aswell, and sell twice as many games but only half as many consoles, why wouldn´t they want to take that route? Do you think they make their money on hardware?
