Forums - Sony Discussion - In case anybody missed. God of War e3 2016 is a SEQUEL and not a reboot.

I love how they said a big part of Kratos's character in this game is that he's trying to control his anger after having his vengeance in God of War 3 and the subsequent complete destruction of basically all of Greek Mythology.

Obviously he'll still have his angry rage moments though since he's Kratos and it even showed his Spartan Rage in the demo, but it won't be him constantly just being angry the whole game like the others were anymore at least and he'll actually show some other emotion and be a more diverse character.

The only God of War game I played was God of War 3 Remastered and I feel like the cutscene at the end of the this demo alone had more diversity in Kratos's character than all of God of War 3.

You should play God of War 1 and especially 2 and you'll understand why Kratos is as angry as he is in God of War 3. Plus they are great games :D

Seriously though this makes me realize what a missed oppurtunity God of War 3 Remastered was in bringing new people to this amazing franchise. It would have been recieved and sold a lot better if it had the other God of War games too.

It's a sequel but essentially a reboot in the same way RES7 is a reboot.

The PS5 Exists.

Yeah, I wish Sony had released the God of War collection instead of just God of War 3 remastered, it was a big wasted opportunity. Especially becasue I really enjoyed God of War 3 Remastered, so i'd like to play 1 and 2 to know the whole story.

I mean, there was already a God of War collection that was released on PS3. So how hard would it have been?

Great

I know right. But if you have a PS3 or Vita I suggest you to play God of War Collection. If you enjoyed God of War 3 without playing the other games you would see it with an even better perspective once you play the other games, even the portable games Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta are amazing.

I honestly like Kratos being the anti hero, we don't need another generic character like he's become. Gaming need more anti heroes.

All these pansy "Ohhh, I need to relate to my characters" fucckkk off.

I was hyped about everything other than the change of Kratos's voice. With that change, the beard, and a child it almost seems like it's not even the same character. I feel like I'm gonna turk a corner in the game and the real Kratos will be there pissed as hell that I stole his identity.

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

I guess the hatred for Kratos on the internet got to Santa Monica. I don't blame Cory Barlog for taking this direction. Even though most of the hatred for the character came from people who never played the game. A sad by product of the Age of Internet.

The game still looks amazing though, and Santa Monica has only ever made great games, so I'm hyped!

I dunno aye, It seems like they've just turned it into another lame American cliche. I hope it flops like DMC.

This American cliche is more popular than the past approach to the series, this game has more mass market appeal than previous God of War games. Not like DMC at all.

I think they specifically did this to expand the poularity of the series. It has many hardcore fans but doesn't seem to attract newer and younger gamers. This Naughty Dog-like approach would attract the younger gamers and movie audiences more and fans wouldn't want to miss it either.
