Bloodborne is a new IP. That's a fact.

It's as much a new IP as Assassin's Creed Black Flag.

Let me remind you where it started.

You made this stupid statement that is wrong.

Biggest downgrade this generation.

The all-mighty Wikipedia page recognizes Bloodborne as being a new IP as Sony wanted a new exclusive IP and Miyazaki wanted to change things up.

So yeah, I guess Bloodborne, Overwatch, and Splatoon so far. There's really not been many quality new IP's this gen as of yet.

Playing both it obvious to me Bloodborne isn't Dark Souls. Plays like a From Software game yes but isn't Dark Souls.

Just to get your thoughts, you're a clever lad.

Do you agree with these statements. And are they objective statements.

Bloodborne is a new IP

The new GoW is part of the GoW IP

AC:BF is part of the AC IP

This statement contradicts itself ' That's why it had to be a different IP and name, but that doesn't make it an entirely new franchise or game.'

Gameplay had nothing to do with what games are covered by that IP

Do you agree with these subjective statements?

Rocket League is a spiritual successor to SRPBC.

Bloodborne isn't a spin-off but could be seen as a spiritual successor to Dark Souls

There's were my points in the posts, more so the objective statements.

I don't need to agree with objective truths, so those 3 at first, no discussion around it.

About the subjective ones, yeah, RL is a spiritual sucessor, but Bloodborne is not an spitirual sucessor.
Bloodborne it's it own thing, thematic, gameplay, lore, but it's okay to consider it as so, it is a close approach to the Souls games, sometimes more to Demon's, sometimes more to Dark. But definitely not a spin-off.

And to add one from me, as I said, I consider TLG a whole with ICO and SOTC, but it's a new IP, no discussion over it.

Seems like you guys are just not having the same discussion, having opinions and facts mixed together makes things hard XP

I was just trying to state when a IP is new and when it's covered by an existing IP but for some reason he/she was getting confused with how a game plays to what an IP is. Check my first response to them. They just then confused the whole situation talking shit. But thank you, I'm not going mad after all.

Lol at everybody saying Splatoon.

Horizon looks really impressive. Will have to wait for the full game to judge though since it's such a large and ambitious game.

Lol ikr! Laughing at people's own opinions!

Might as well laugh to those that said Rocket League is the best new IP this gen or best game last year!

You're right that statement is incorrect, i should have put it differently sorry. Just meant to say that Bloodbourne isn't that different from the Souls games and that there are sequels to games out there that differ about the same amount, that's all. As i said in the later post Rocket League probably would have been a better example(different IP but spiritual successor aswell).

Now you admit you didn't read the OP properly. :-p

Surely too early to say.

It does look amazing though. I wish it was multiplat.

In a sea of Playstation AAA games that feel and look very samey, Horizon definitely looks original and new. But after watching more game play it definitely is looking like a cross between Zelda and a Michael Bay Transformers movie. As these games become more complex and detailed, I just wish that these developers would move away from limited scripted fighting maneuvers or ways to go about things in the game.

I'll probably wait until the generation is over before I decide that. So far the standout new IPs this generation in terms of critical reception have been Bloodborne, Overwatch, Splatoon and Titanfall. Based on what I've seen of Horizon so far, I have faith that it can be one of the best new IPs this generation. The visuals and setting are fantastic, the gameplay looks fun, but we can't be sure until we play out the story.
