Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ubisoft just announced Just Dance for the NX, and that makes me nervous.

You see, I was under the impression that no 3rd party company could announce their projects for the Nintendo NX before the unveiling for the console. However, Ubisoft did just that. I'm sure it's not a big deal, because it's Just Dance and it sells the best on Nintendo systems since the Wii. But now I'm a little nervious. Did Ubisoft just ignored Nintendo's orders about the NX games? Is Nintendo fine with that, and we'll see more NX announcements from this moment on? That racing game from some weeks ago had to blurr its ad to hide the NX.  Or there are NO orders from Nintendo against NX releases, and this is jus one of the few 3rd party games for the system's first year? What is going on?

It is a bit awkward. What does this say about NX then? Do they not think high of it? I'm once again...pretty scared. Just dance usually requires motion controls...I thought NX was trying to differentiate from Wii U and 3DS...unless all this talk about not being a successor to Wii U and 3DS is true.

I just assume the wiimotes will be compatible. It would be dumb to ignore them, specially when there are more wiimotes around the world than WiiUs and 3DS combined.

If you recall Ubisoft announced Rayman Legends before the U was official and NDAs were still in place it's something they just seem to keep doing.

I wouldn't worry about it, Just Dance is basically on everything at this point anyway so an NX version was predictable no matter what.

lol that's a bit concerning, but really I can't imagine there's many 3rd parties on board. First, there's no telling whether or not there will be a market for their games. Second, every rumor I've read is that Nintendo has been hesitant to even release console specs to devs.

Maybe they weren't allowed to announce till E3?

I would love just dance on the NX think of the possibilities

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

And never mentioned again the rest of the 2 hour conference.

Dragon Quest X and XI did it months ago.

I wouldn't worry about it. The big third parties seem to have the privilege of announcing their game ports for it, so long as any exclusive games aren't shown before he official reveal.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Nintendo may as well just make a weird console, they don't have any chance against Sony/MS. Maybe if MS was leaving the industry there would be an opening but they don't have one now with Scorpio MS is doubling down on going after Sony, there is no room for a third wheel console.

Honestly in terms of dedicated game hardware, the portable market, or whatever is left of it, probably has to carry Nintendo.

The mistake was already made in allowing both Sony and MS to take over the mainstream console market, you can't allow two companies that big just step all over your turf and think you're going to win it back like 20 years later. They needed to fight tooth and nail and the GameCube at minimum needed to bloody MS' nose so badly that they wouldn't want to come back, but Nintendo never made a stand there and these are the consequences.
