I don't think NX have to be saw like Xbox or PS... It's a new concept !
Nintendo can make error, but they aren't stupide... I think they gonna make somethings différent, perhaps don't wait about third... In fact, NX don't remplace wiiu or 3DS, because its différent, but anyway Nintendo will make his new games only on NX.

It was you who decided to pick the cool PS2 instead of the ridiculous purple lunchbox GCN. It didn't fit your taste - and I can see how. I don't know a single person who's ever even heard of Smash - Nintendo doesn't give a damn about our market. We got no marketing, no info, just a humiliating design that looked like sh*t on the cabinet, was overpriced as hell and almost impossible to get hold of, so nobody ever cared. We weren't given any chance or any reason to want it. You were the ones that rejected it.

And if you think physical design doesn't matter, then I guess you've missed countless threads comparing PS4 to Xbone. It matters. Nintendo being labeled as childish has always mattered and still does - if you refuse to accept that, that's your problem, but don't insult people because you choose to be ignorant.

Just reading all the hardcore gamer speak in this thread makes me sigh. Did you guys who know so much about the console market ever read a book about creating successful products? Did you get extensive education on this topic? Do you own a company? I just wonder why people think they are qualified to judge why Nintendo's past consoles succeeded or failed or why its future products will be dead on arrival.

Not pointed at anyone in particular. It just strikes me as odd whenever I read through these discussions. Because I've never heard anyone with actual knowledge in marketing or product development talk about "casuals" and the authors of both Blue Ocean Strategy and the Innovator's Dilemma would cringe if they knew how people on gaming forums misinterpreted their theories.

A fallacy people make is that casual gamers only buy casual games, and other gamers never buy casual games. This is like saying that only comic book geeks watch comic book movies and other people never watch comic book movies.

Never is a harsh term. But one could say casual gamers probably dont buy a lot of games that would be considered non casual. You can just tell by the sales.

I think causal gamers moved to $699 iPAD's with 4G LTE + 30 a month phone plan.  mobile gaming!
