I don't think 600 for a PC hooked to your TV will give them much sales (because unfortunately they have made clear basically all X1 games will go to PC as well, but not all PC games will run on X1), so they will have to make a way to sell below 450 and even then depending on PS4Neo release it may not help them much.

I can't see it costing that much. Given the kind of price/performance ratio AMD have been showing off with the RX480 (and that's consumer prices; MS will be buying their parts in bulk), and that the Scorpio isn't even due out for another 1 - 1.5 years, i think it'll sit somewhere in the $450 to $550 range. Of course, there's always the chance MS will take a 7th gen style loss to keep the price low, but i can't see them being willing to do that again.

600$

$500 - $550

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

I'm gona say 799$ I don't see them managing to get all the stuff they are promising with a lower price...

I said 600-700. Just have a feeling that they haven't even gone into price planning. Thing is a year and a half away. but again a lot can happen.

Mark my words, they will drop the bomb on E3 2017 and announce the $399 price.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

The new AMD gpu is about 200$, about the power of a 980...

so, id bet in 400$.

To put that into perspective the GTX 980 is about 5 tflops. So it's about 20% more powerful.

*face palm*
Flops cannot be compared between 2 GPU's of completely different architectures, it's not a denominator for gauging the complete capabilities of graphics processors.

For all you know, Scorpio will be 20% slower whilst having 20% more "flops".

A GTX 980 alone costs around $500 from a quick search on amazon, 20% higher means $600. Let alone it cost more because it'll be in a much smaller form factor assume it's console sized and we're not even talking about the Cpu, Ram, Contoller etc.

You cannot compare a PC GPU to a console one, especially in terms of price.

For starters... Console manufacturers don't buy "complete" GPU's, they don't buy multiple chips of Ram dedicated to the GPU, they don't buy over-engineered dedicated power delivery systems dedicated to the GPU, they don't buy highly complex, expensive, copper vapor chamber air-blower coolers, they don't need to purchase a PCB with tons of layers and traces to route everything.

The GPU is also integrated in with the rest of the SoC, which allows for chip consolidation to keep costs low and they also buy in bulk and have special deals to farther reduce the costing.

As for the "controller" I will assume you are talking about the memory controller, that is also integrated in the main SoC.

What're we thinking here? Assuming price goes down of course by the time Holiday 2017 rolls around so factoring that in I'm gonna say about $800.

MAYBE $750

Considering how you got yourself to this point and theorised it's costing... I disagree, completely.
