I am glad that this rumor turned out to be false and Link is still a dude. I hate it when games bend to politically correct forces because it always happens at the expense of artistic creativity. If the development team didn't feel inspired on their own to make a female link, it should really be the end of the discussion. I am sure that the west will try forcing a female Link on Nintendo in the future as part of the left-wing political agenda but just keep in mind, historically speaking, propaganda pieces rarely end up becoming well-respected classics.
