Edit: just read he also had a hunting knife on him. So there ya go, this guy really wanted to commit murder. He was a crazy person and thats the real story people are ignoring.

It was a crazy man, a crazy man living on a country where to get a gun (wich is like 100 times more effective to kill someone than a knife, specially if you plan to kill someone famous and kill yourself later) is ridiculously easy, a perfect combination.

When is so damn easy to get a machine that gives you the power to easily kill someone with low chances to fail is way more easy to be determined to commit murder, is not like everybody has the knowledge or the hability to create an effective bomb for that situation, but everybody can use a gun.

Its not hard to make a bomb and fortunately most crazy people focus on few versus many like a terrorist.

Its worth noting not all murders are commited with guns either. Even with more regulations people motivated to commit murder will do it. Cities riddled with gang violence tend to have strict gun laws.

It's not as simple as blaming guns but had he tried  to use a knife it would have been far more difficult to inflict fatal injury on her, that should go without saying. There is a reason why the vast majority of US fatalities are caused by guns versus knifes or bombs.

I cant even remember the last time I heard on the news someone in denmark was killed by being shot.
We re a small country of like 5.6m people or so, and we dont allow our citizens to own guns.

We probably go years without.
US should ban guns, it kills and hurts many more than it helps.

The American homicide rate has steadily been on decline. People are safer now than they were 10 years ago. A young woman was just murdered with no prior warning. If we're going to try and use this for political gain, let's at least have an honest, meaningful discussion about what caused this and what can be done as prevention.
