Forums - PC Discussion - Leaked benchmarks for AMD Radeon RX 480 hits minimum VR spec for $199

I'm really excited about these new gpu's. I saw that the geforce 1070 is only around $300 and is superior to the ~$1k Titan... There's some very affordable, substantial upgrades atm :)

Edit: Closer to $370

Wow, that is craycray value! I will be interested to see some real world dx12 performance when it comes out @_@

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Neat,sounds like a great card. Too bad I am not building a new PC any time soon.

The GTX 1070 is $379 (or $449 for the Founders Edition). It's still beats the 980Ti for about half the price, so it's a steal.

1440p/VR spec for $199 really is a great deal.

There are some very demanding games out there, specially with everything maxed out. I'd say that the RX 480 will be best used for 1080p gaming.

Also, here's a pic of Sapphire's Nitro version of the RX 480

The article also mentions that some reviewers already have the card, so we could get some leaks in the coming days/weeks.

That's amazing. AMD is truly doing wonders for the casualish market

That's fine, I only have a 1080p monitor. This card should allow me to max most games at 1080p for at least 2 years, which is great for $200, considering the fact that my current Geforce 950 only cost $40 less and can only max older games. Unless Nvidia blows me away with 1060 pricing and specs, I think I'll probably be getting one of these next time I upgrade.

I'd be very surprised if Nvidia's GTX 1060 (which will allegedly will come between 970 and 980 in performance) doesn't compete against this card in both price and performance.

My only doubt is if the 1060 will also have 4 and 8GB variants.

the 1070 was announced at $379, but realistically it will take months for the first ones to drop below $400

I didn't plan to get it immediately, I just meant it's already a good deal as is. There's a great variety of options coming our way it would seem.

This might be my next card. Very enticing. Just wonder how the 1060 will compare.
