Pretty sure by 'support' he means 'have NEO settings.' It will surely run all PS4 software, but no guarantee all upcoming software will take full advantage of NEO powerz.

Actually while that may be true I wa thinking more along the lines of older titles that wont be updated in any way for NEO

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, too.  It sounds like devs have to do a little to make it compatible, so older titles may not be able to run properly.  I don't really know what to make of the statement for sure, so I hope they clarify this soon.

Why the fuck does the Neo even exist anyways?

Except every PS4 games will be playable on the current PS4 and not have any exclusive to the Neo.

Maybe Sony will reveal the Neo at TGS 2016 then?

I hope it stays that way. My only concern is that there could a game where you would need the Neo in order for a game to be playable. I hope that doesn't happen.

Well Andrew House said “All games will support the standard PS4 and we anticipate all or a very large majority of games will also support the high-end PS4,”

Also says the Neo is to support all games, if not, a very large majority.  So seems like the Neo might not be able to support all games if they said that :S

We'll just have to take his word for now, who knows if they change their mind afterwards.  But I hope it stays this way as well.

That's a shame. I was looking forward to hearing some news about the NEO.

I can't see many developers, aside from first party, updating existing games to take advantage of Neo, I just can't see it being worth it unless Sony grant them a free update.

It will surely play all existing PS4 games though, but they did not word that well and just serves to add to the confusion.

the interview says quite a bit,.. i was expecting something more generic like "we will not be talking about any future hardware revisions at E3"

“All games will support the standard PS4 and we anticipate all or a very large majority of games will also support the high-end PS4,” he said.

good to have that confirmation from house.  i never believed the fears some people had about there being neo exclusives but it's good to be able to point to a direct quote now.  iterative hardware is the future and (imo) a good thing.

What makes me nervous about that quote is that it says "all or a very large majority."  So, they're saying there's a chance that not all PS4 games will work on the NEO.  If they can't guarantee to me that I'll be able to play every game, then I don't see why I would want one, as much as I would love the improved performance.  I really don't want to have to leave my standard PS4 and my NEO both hooked up to my TV.

that's not at all what was said.  all games will be on ps4 and ps4 neo.  most games will have some performance advanatage on neo (increased resolution and/or framerate) but not all games will perform better on neo.

Sounds good, like to see the focus more on games

To support PS VR and 4k.

4K Resolution

The PS4 will be enabled for 4K resolution for videos, the interface, and movies through Hulu or Netflix, but it will not have the capability to display games in 4K.

In the same interview where Yoshida revealed more about the PS4's 3D capabilities he also stated:

"The PS4 supports 4K output, but only for photos and videos; not games. PS4 games do not work on 4K

So like I've been telling all the naysayers: it isn't rendering your PS4 moot. It's just a premium PS4 for 4K users.

Exactly! Just another option...

That makes sense.

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019
