Apple products are great use them all day at work and at home, IOS products do have a back button click home button twice.

Yes Watch is a joke, overpriced sneakers are stupid, much better choices for headphones other than Beats.

SD cards would be a nice option, I'll give ya that, but by no means a deal breaker.

- Smartwatches. Maybe in the future they will be useful, but right now they are sometimes reach 300 bucks and their only functionality is to make you have to pick up your phone less often. It's not like it's that hard to look at my phone. Plus, most of them cannot even go a full day with a charge, being another gadget crying for a power source.

- Voice assistants (Siri, Google Now, Cortana, Moto Voice, etc). The Google Now cards are actually useful. I'm talking strictly about voice. It's unreliable and nobody wants to talk with their phone in public like an idiot.

- VR. People didn't wanted 3D because it really didn't gave the immersion it promised, was based on uncomfortable glasses, made it harder to do other stuff while watching 3D content (glasses) and caused nausea to some people. VR is all of that maximized and ten times worse. It won't give the immersion people expected. The resolution is low, pixels are visible, nausea is a huge issue, it won't allow you to do anything else while using VR (don't you look at your phone while playing?). It won't have the so promised "presence" because it only feeds you visual information while your other senses (like balance) say different stuff. It's a big flop already. Even Sony seems to recognize by launching an updated PS4 to have other thing to push sales. Anyone thinking that it's for VR is being delusional. Now people will have to chose if they want to put 400 bucks on PSVR or simply trade their PS4 and put less than that to get a 4K model. The first option, gives you a handful of games. The second one will provide upgrades for basically all games from now on. They know people won't just buy both and expend 800 dollars to get a better VR experience.

Overhyped items:
Apple Products: iPhones iPads are overpriced for what you get (they are smart phones for people who don't know how to use a smart phone). A more capable Android device with equal build quality is usually ~$100 cheaper.
Macbooks and MACs are greatly overpriced, you can get a PC of equivalent specs for half the price if not better. The OS is UNIX and if you really want an UNIX style OS go with MINT or Ubuntu, they are actually more capable then OSX is and generally easier to use. There is no reasonable reason anyone should wait in line for days to get any of their products.

Bose Products: Overpriced, under-quality garbage. Similar to Beats audio you are paying for a brand name only. The actual products are greatly outclassed by items 1/3 the price. Bose used to be an outstanding product back when they made the 601s, but that is more than two decades ago. They have failed to innovate since then and still live off of massive advertising, product placement, and brand recognition instead of actual quality.

Any High-End brand name clothing and accessories company that doesn't necessarily have the quality to back up their popularity, e.g. Coach, Prada, Luis Vuitton, Jordan's, Starter Jackets from back in the day, Non-Athletic Nike merchandise (Most of their so called basketball shoes are not actual athletic wear and just "look cool").

Any recent DC movie and franchise other than the Dark Knight series.

I would disagree with the Smartwatches not being useful now. I personally find mine to be very useful, I can quickly see the importance of a text or email while being social without being rude. If I am driving I can quickly respond to an urgent text via voice while not using my phone; it is illegal to use my phone while driving in my state. I also use it for fitness tracking without having to buy a FitBit. Additioanlly, The one I have just looks like a nice watch and I have recieved many compliments on it without anyone knowing it is a smartwatch.

Most smart watches now last 2 days without a charge, and you charge your phone every night so what is wrong with charging your watch at the sametime. As for the price complaint, there are many smart watches that don't have a typcial watch aesthetic that are in $150 price range, it's the ones that look more like traditiaonl watches that cost more.

As for Voice assistants, this is another feature that I find incredably useful. Primarily for making quick notes, settings alarms/reminders, and calling someone without having to look up their contact info. I will conceed that it is really only useful on a phone and not so much on a non-portable device.

Beats actually makes really sub-par products. The don't sound very good and we get them back broken at work all the time.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Apple products aren't overhyped. Not even the Apple Watch. (come on, everyone knew it would be stupid) But Apple products are fantastic. They are perfect for what they are meant to do, outside of a few SD-card blemishes. And Apple products don't have a back button because their solution is superior, dude.

And also, they look astronomically better than anything else on the market both hardware-wise and software-wise. I know it sounds crazy to think that people, you know, appreciate things that look good, but they do. I know it's crazy to think that people would pay a premium to buy something that looks better than something cheaper and less attractive, but the fashion industry exists for a reason. Art exists for a reason. It's so silly to me when people argue that Apple products are overpriced because you can buy hardware of equal specifications at a cheaper price.

Sure, but those products are ugly.

And people will pay to not have ugly stuff, especially when the functionality of that product is top of the line anyway. Apple products look good and work exceptionally well for their intended purposes. They work within a unified family of devices, and with that comes convenience. They have an excellent (mobile) marketplace. Because so many people own Apple products, it becomes a more convenient thing to own when communicating with those people.

If you want a computer or tablet or phone that can do quantum computing or you want a very specific technology tailored to a very specified goal (or a gaming rig), maybe don't but an Apple product.

But most people just want something that works well and looks good, and Apple products work very well while looking very very good. So no duh, people are going to buy it.

1) apple products.

Besides the ipad, I despise most apple products. They're overpriced, have no back button, and most of their products still start with 16 GB(and no option of SD card). Last innovation was probably the iPad. Apple watch is a joke...a very expensive joke.

This bit made me chuckle. Since when has 'having no back button' deemed detriment to an OS? iOS doesn't have a back button because it simply doesn't require one. The use of multi-tasking, tab control and forward/back gestures more than faciltate the requirement for a user to back track on tasks. To make my point futher - OSX, Windows and all forms of Linux that are not Andorid, do not have back buttons.

Most of their products start with 16GB? Yup. That sucks. But so does the competition.

SD Card? Comparble to competition. The difference with the Apple Eco System is that nearly all content can be cloud based - music, photos, app saves etc - negating the need for expandable storage. Of course, if you want local storage, there are devices with much larger storage options. They just don't facilitate expandable storage.

Quite honestly, having used Android devices with expandable storage I am glad it isn't supported on iOS. Expandable storage on Android is mostly handled poorly in terms of saving/retreiving files (seperate storage vs. combined, Samsung tried but still failed IMO) and the biggest issue - expandable storage is much slower than internal flash. I'll take faster, internal storage over expandable storage any day when it comes to phones.

Last innovation was the iPad? Not that long ago then - and still widely regarded as being the best tablet device. Only recently has it been seriously challenged by the likes of MS Surface.

Apple Watch is a joke? Well, compared to other smart watches I would say it is easily the best on the market. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it a innovative and necessary device? Probably not. But it is one of the most advanced if not the most advanced wearable on the market.

Oh good, another VR impression from someone who's never used VR.

Better go tell all of the people that have used that they're wrong.

Hey actually while you're here would you mind telling me if Suicide Squad is a good movie? I'd normally wait for reviews...but what I really want is the opinion of someone who's never seen it.

You don't need apple to have a nice looking product. For example you can get any number of UltraBooks that look as good or better then a MacBook for much cheaper.

For PC's there are plenty of All-in_ones that compare to Macs and still look great and are still much cheaper.

For Phones, you can get top of the line looks and performance on the cheap as well. Look at Motorola devices or OnePlus devices. They look awesome and often outperform the comparable Apple product and have better reliability. I worked for a massive company where, due to whining, gave in and started deploying Apple tablets and phones. The amount of device failures due to bad manufacturing was astounding. Even Blackberry had a better track record. We ended out having to purchase AppleCare on every device because more than 1/3rd of all devices failed, not including drops, within 1 year.

Apple devices are just popular, but from my experience and knowledge of other available products, they are simply overpriced garbage.

I will agree that Apple Phones and Tablets are very good at being a phone for people who don't know how to use technology. Apple has mastered the art of dumbing down technology. The cost of this is making advanced use and configuration nearly impossible without "jailbreaking."
