I think anyone who pays attention could have gotten a better deal this year ultimately.  Amazon just ran a crazy deal where they gave away 5 games, a controller and a gift card or something didn't they?

If I were in USA I would probably took that bait.

There have been some really good deals.

The rumors probably do not help.  I saw the deal being talked about in the amazon thread and thought to myself oooh I want to get that just because it is sooooo good of a deal but then thought, crap I also want to see what they show at E3.  Ha, it is so conflicting!

I can not remember the exact deal but it sure sounded like a really good deal.

I am for some odd reason really interested in seeing if they talk about a slim streaming xbox one.  I know most are against it on forums but it has peaked my curiosity.

I hope this does some good to the console.

It wont.

Xbox One has had so many deals that lowered the price to around 299$, or came with value (extra stuff) that put it well below 299$.

I dont think the impact will be very noticeable.

Yeah, some  of the deals with all the extras really brought the buy in pretty low overall.  There have been some pretty crazy deals pop up here and there.

I bought an Xbox One w/Kinect and Titanfall for $500

Then, i bought an Xbox One with Gears of War, Black Ops 3, Assassin's Creed Unity, NBA 2K15, and a Turtle Beach headset (gift for someone) for $350

THEN, last week, I bought myself a 1TB Xbox One for like $230 (refurbished)

Before it's done, I'll have purchased an Xbox One for every man, woman and child in Georgia.

lol, that is because they have really been putting forth great deals.  If not for E3 anticipation I think I would have jumped on that last Amazon deal.  I just really want to see what they announce.

Slim will probably be $299.99 and $249.99 actually for Black Friday deals.

That makes literally no sense.

Why would they release a new console revision at the same price as the old one? What is the incentive to by either?

Back in May 2004, Sony cut the price of PS2 to $149.99, a few months later they released the PS2 Slim for $149.99.

Back in 2008, Microsoft cut the price of the base X360 model to $199.99, In 2009 they cut the price of the premium sku to $299.99, in 2010 they launched the Slim models with price tags of $199.99 & $299.99.

It is not uncommon to release slim models for the same price as previous models.

Yes I bet, the reason I haven't bought WiiU (besides games keeping pricey) and X1 is more that PS4 already uses all my time.

Ya know I was thinking something with this new offer... if MS is trying to do it to make a few sales before E3 and the launch of a new reveal of new shiny hardware, what kind of buyer does this make anyone who has been on the edge about buying an X1 since launch? you're already talking about someone who isn't fully confident to invest money in the system and then this offer comes with the potential of just 2 weeks of ownership before a massive dose of buyers remorse with E3...

I just think if anyone does buy in now and gets stung like that, they most certainly wont be a happy gamer or likely to support a future system or release. Just my budget gamer logic at play here, might mean far less for others of course buying a replaced model for slightly less.

Yes, like I said, none of this makes sense. No matter how you look at it you can't find a single sensible reason for this strategy, unless the end goal is to deliberately drive the console market into the ground and to justify moving XB owners over to PC. If you look at it from that angle, it actually makes sense. XB1 games are all going to PC, Live is free on PC, XB1 OS going over to PC, start using the term 'platform', and kill the console.

The PS5 Exists.

Its 279 now with free games

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

lol with both the xbox slim and the scorpio coming why would someone buy an Xbox one at this point?

Erm, it's been at 299+1 game for quite some time here in France..
