Racism:
a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human racial groups determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to dominate others or that a particular racial group is inferior to the others.
2.
a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3.
hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

Maybe this will help you determine it. I believe myself to be a superior human being, but not because I am white. I just think I am better than everyone else. That doesn't make me racist, that probably makes me a megalomaniac. I don't believe any races are inherently weaker or less deserving than others, but I do believe that there are people who are clearly inferior. Again, not racist. However, an outside perspective of me seeing an individual not of my race in that way would certainly deem me racist because reasons.

^ this.

There is nothing in the Ad that has any of this.

Politically incorrect? maybe.

Racist? no.

You sure about that? That last one 'a particular racial group is inferior to the others' is pretty heavily implied there.

I would say you are inferring it more than they are implying it.  In no way is the girl in the commercial appearing to be disgusted by the fact that he is black in the beginning.  If anything it has a very "get clean and come get me" vibe to it.  There is no connotation that denotes that he is going in because he is black.  He is going in because he is dirty, and they happened to use a black person instead of dirt to convey that.  Twisted and a bit weird?  Sure.  Racist?  I don't quite see it.

Thats open to interpretation (we re talking about what the woman in the video likes?).

The "woman" doesnt want a black man, who is sweaty/dirty & covered in paint.

But is okay with the asian that comes up after being cleaned.

It could be the woman just doesnt like sweaty men, who are covered in paint.

So how racist is this one?

This dishwasher turns a white man into a black man.

(joke about pen*s sizes ect and what women want).

"colour is better"

:P

Still not sure if thats racist but its probably more politically incorrect than the other.

I lived in china as well and they do have a race problem.

The ad is racist because of the context of the chinese attitudes to black people (Which they don't hide much). Anyone with dark skin in china is deemed bad, very unattractive, criminal, and poor.

It's normal for chinese people too say, 'I'm not racist I just don't like black people'. I've had conversations where people have seen photos where I'm eating with a black person and said, 'ewww, a black guy.' with extreme disgust and not realising there anything remotely wrong with acting that way.

Many people there don't have a very well developed sense of what racism is in most of the country. It's normalised and they don't question it. There's bigotry in china between chinese people of slightly different skin tones. Actual black people make them crazy.

The ad it ripped off was comparing a white slob to a black body builder in a culture where white people are the norm and made for a largely white audience. This compared a scruffy black guy in a culture that often overtly dislikes black people to a pale skinned chinese guy.

So, which is it? Just black people or anyone with a dark skin tone?

So black people = dirty

Asian people = clean

But not racist apparently...

Its a joke, but it plays on skin tone.

And yes when white people get dirty, they appear "darker"

But the commerical doesnt imply that the black guy isnt wanted because hes black.

Hes sweaty/dirty and covered in paint, after haveing painted.

When he comes up, hes no longer covered in sweat & paint.

That's a really strong detergent. I wonder if that's what they were going for... nah, must be about asian superiority over blacks, that should be it.

But yeah, the black guy was much more attractive than the chinese guy. I think the woman regrets her decision now.

Again, inference.

When light skinned people get dirty they get darker - fact not opinion.

The job of laundry detergent is to make things clean - fact not opinion.

The commercial takes a black man and uses him to portray a very dirty Asian man - culturally unacceptable in most of Western civilization - and then uses the detergent to make him clean and back to his normal "desirable" self.  In their opinion, this was funny and worked.  In my opinion, it is through a cultural prism that we see this as an unacceptable form of humor.  If we weren't so sensitive to race, it would be a non-issue.  Hell, it would be even worse if they used "black-face" to do it.
