Actually no, and it is exactly that type of mentality that leads to people being unable to separate the attempt at humor with the race in this exact video.

Life has varying shades it isn't simple binary.

Dude. She washed him. The implication was that he was dirty because of the black skin. I am not saying it wasn't an attempt at humor but you cannot deny that skin color had a central role in that commercial.

Your type of mentality is completely reactionary.

I would say my mentality is the opposite of reactionary.  I don't just see something and react to it, I actually give it thought.  And, in some instances, even the benefit of the doubt.  She did wash him.  However, it was also clear that he was sweaty and covered in paint and just had a long day.  Don't let those facts get in the way of being reactionary and seeing it solely as a race thing though.

You seriously don't see nothig wrong with that??

Wrong and Racist are not the same word, don't move the goalpost.

Racism:

1.
a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various humanracial groups determine cultural or individual achievement,
usuallyinvolving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to dominate others or that a particular racial group
is inferior to the others.
2.
a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such adoctrine; discrimination.
3.
hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.

If you really don't see none of that in that Ad, then I guess there is nothing else I can say to you.

I am not denying that this was an attempt at humor and that he had paint on him or anything. But you can't ignore the fact that she washed his skin color into a paler shade. Washing is inherently about clearning and cleaning is inherently about taking away the bad stuff. If he had paint all over him why didn't only the paint disappear?

I am not reactionary i am simply just trying to discuss this video. I don't think the video is as racist as many people would have you believe but to say it isn't racist because we can't know the intention is just stupid.

I certainly don't see hatred or intolerance in there no.  As I mentioned before she appears to look forward to enjoying some time with the man.

You are also reading a whole hell of a lot into it to see any superiority complexes for the woman.  As I mentinoed in other previous posts, there is a lot of racism inferred by others for this video, but not necessarily implied.  You can't take a Western view and apply it to a Chinese commercial.  To do so is to ignore the significance of the culture you are viewing.

Perhaps if it's big it will hurt her.

I'm surprised so many people are OK with the ad. It strikes me as offensive in so many ways. The black man is portrayed as dirty and lascivious. He's forced violently into the machine. He emerges as a clean, attractive, and acceptable Asian man.

No one thinks there's a racial/racist subtext here?

It's the internet, what did you expect? People will defend anything, no matter how ridiculous to stick it to those "terrible SJW" who are so over the top.

This is not racist, this is just a ripoff.

Hahaha... lets see the victimisation and racist comments on this one!

This is so racist guys! QQ we are so discriminated against!

No? Just works the other way around? That isn't quite right now is it? I'm really tired of the victimisation game that has been played in the last few years.

You don't see white man going "oh no... this is so racists i feel so violated and discriminated against" in this do you? Grow up i say. Discrimination hardly exists anymore. This isn't the 1800's and before.

Actually, the italian advertisement here would be more racist towards white men than the korean towards black men. The Korean one is a play with detergent commercials always making everything white. It's not nearly as bad.

So, just stop with the racism bs and beeing offended by things you shouldn't be internets. Learn to take a joke.

NO.  We will not stop being offended by these kind of things, and we will not learn to take these type of jokes.

And yes, both videos are racist and wrong.

And if you truly believe that discrimination hardly exists anymore..  Then I think you need to open your eyes a little bit more to the world around you.
