All of a sudden everyone is a animal activist but i can assure you that everyone of these people would think/act diffrently if that would be their 4 year old child down there. What a hypocritical society.

Of course, we have a tendancy to protect our own. Do notice, however, that gorillas do have an intelligence comparable to a child of that age (as shown by puzzle-solving, or a very basic comprehension of sign language, in some cases)

Bet with PeH:

I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.

Bet with WagnerPaiva:

I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

So how the fuck did the child manage to get in there? Also what were the parents doing?
Sadly the zoo staff really didn´t have a choice but to kill the gorilla due to tranqs missing/not instantly working and thus possibly upsetting him which could result in the childs death. I hope the proper people will be held responsible as these animals are seriously valuable.

Yup...RO friggin rocked

To me, it's better safe than sorry. If it were my kid, I wouldn't have let this happen to begin with, but in this situation I'd rather have the animal shot than my kid killed. These kinds of things are unpredictable And again, it's stupid that an innocent animal was killed but I've seen worse. Then again, if it was my choice I'd not imprison these animals to begin with. Let them freakin' be normal and live in the wild. God, I there's so many ways to slice this thing. I'm glad the kid is safe though.

A story like this happened before 2012, and it was handled much more professionally.

There is a Change.org petition, “Justice for Harambe,” that already has over 178,154 signatures.

I willsign and share this petition

The mother should have taken better care of her kid. But that said i understand why they killed the Gorilla.

...

....

..Now then where was my gallon of bleach?

Humanity doesn't even surprise me anymore with the stupidity that they do.

the parents should pay for causing the death of the innocent animal.

Agreed

Zoos should be illegal. You cage a bunch of wild animals to put on display and be mocked, then when an irresponsible person puts themselves or others at risk, the animal is at fault. They're fucking disgusting.

Actually there are a lot of people agreeing that shooting the gorilla was the right choice. But it was obviously the mother's fault, which then caused the death of the gorilla. I don't see anything hypocritical about that.
