This is so much bullshit. I don't know the full details if it was the mother that lifted her son over the gorilla enclosure and fell or if the son himself jumped over it, but everything that happened could've been entirely avoided if she watched over her son. And yet she has the nerve to post on Facebook to implicitly say how bad of a mother she is. And now there's a dead gorilla who didn't deserve any of what had happened.

JS, couldn't you just thorw some of the Gorilla's food inside of the pit and just send a Zoo employee to rescue the kid ? heck I know it's 'Murrica that we're talking about but I hope that it's easier to find some Bananas than a shotgun in a Zoo...

An expert talked about this and tranqulizers do not work fast enough and it also upsets the animal as well.  Talking that kind of risk could prvoke the Gorilla to injury the kid especially something as big and powerful as a full male silverback.  The expert stated that the Gorilla was already upset that the child was there so any thing that provoked its rage would esculate the situation.

Of course we would act different. From starters, we wouldn't let our child fall into the gorilla pit.
