God this and God that.. Thank God for only a concussion. In a situation that he allowed to happen in the first place. Or made happen. Yeah. Thank him.

You're quite angry. Maybe bring up the actual topic instead of bashing the woman's beliefs for no apparent reason.

Anyway, I'm not sure why no one is brining up the Zoo itself, What's the point of having any kind of barrier if it can't stop a toddler from falling in, which really should be the primary reason for having one in the first place.

Here is a post from the top commenter in 9gag, you and other people can decide if he/she is telling the truth, I highlighted the sentence about the security of the pen:

"Yes, they killed the gorilla. A tranquilizer gun doesn't always put an animal down, sometimes enrages them. Therefore, they shot the gorilla. The gorilla pulled the boy out of water, and stood the boy up. The crowd grew louder, and the boy's mom just kept saying mommy loves you, making the boy scream. Then, the gorilla dragged the 4 year old to the habitat door, trying to protect him. The mom is now suing the zoo. The boy had several obstacles to get through before reaching the retaining wall, and the mom knew the boy was asking if he could walk up to the gorilla. The mom should have to pay for the loss of the gorilla, or have CPS on her. Also, the gorilla was already in prison, the zoo, he suffered enough then got shot for protecting the kid."

Yikes that's real scary for the kid, fuck the gorilla.

watch this:

Koko learnt sign language.

She knew like 2000 words, and make up her own words for things she had no words for.

She said she wanted children, and promised to teach them to "speak" sign language.

Sadly she died before that could happend.

Its sad one of them (arnt that many left) was killed.

Shouldn't the barriers be good enough to stop a toddler falling in... like really,...

It's sad that the Gorilla had to die, the Parents should have done a better job but also the Zoo should have done a better job too.

Really the barrier failed at it's main function.

The child involved was four and no longer a toddler the main fault should go to the mother for not watching the child.  Another mother who saw the whole incident said the child was actively trying to get into the enclosure.

Well good thing is she doesn't have a case there is at least one eye witness that saw the whole incident and can testify it was the mothers fault for not properly supervising the child.  She saw the kid actively trying to get into the enclouser and the mother not being aware of it.  Yeah if anthing this incident should be used in the future by CPS for her loosing custody of her child.

Considering the animal in question is fairly intelligent, I don't think it would have been unreasonable to attempt to approach the gorilla, or distract him, as shown in another video in the thread.

The thing is it was a male Silverback.  Would you as a parent want someone taking a risk of your child getting killed.  Before they shot the Gorilla they waited 15 mins to see if the situation was dangerous and after that they decided that there was no other way to save this child life without putting the Gorilla down.  When it comes to a human child or the animal there should be no question about saving the child life no matter who is responsible.

As for people blaming the mother and calling her all types of names, most of you probably never had kids.  It really only takes seconds for a child to move out of site and there isn't one parent out there that has never got distracted while with their kids.  The thing is, everyone is the greatest parent when something happens to someone else or they are the greatest critics when they never had kids.  I have seen plenty of good parents have their 4 year old just run off and most times its in a place where they cannot really get hurt.  I am sure none of you would think that your child could just squeeze themselves between bars at a zoo so that would be the last thing on your mind.  When all is said and done it was a total tragic situation.  The experts all chimmed in and said the zoo did the right thing because the child was in danger.
