Wow, that's really interesting. I hadn't heard that before.

I also enjoyed 5 for what it was, but that's a shame we never got to see the original vision :(

Since you're a Barry fan, do you play/enjoy Revelations 2?

Hah, I loved Revelations 2. It had an interesting dynamic between playing on the past as Claire/Moira and then future as Barry/Natalia. The plot really doesn't make a lot of sense, but I've come to peace terms with plots and Resident Evil at this point, so I simply went with the flow here, and that made me enjoy it much more. The gameplay was...interesting. It had some semi-open parts that allowed exploration and strategy, though most of the game is set on linear terms. There's also the good replayability, unlockables extras and customizable weaponry. I personally thought it was a well-put, fun to play game. There's also the ultimate iteration of Raid Mode (also present on Revelations 1) which basically gives you hundreds of hours of playtime if you really enjoy the gameplay.

I got the physical version which basically brings every content they put out, and let me tell you, there's a lot of things to do here. The only small complain I could say is that it gets a little bit grindy at times for some unlockables. And some modes were...eh, but the more the merrier!

I think that game was really made for people like me, because half the game there's Barry burton jokes and references, either from Claire's mouth or from Barry himself. They even got all cheesy at the final boss and I couldn't help myself but giggle as a little kid with them. There's also some funny e-mails Barry sent to both Jill and Chris excusing himself for not being able to help during RE5 events.

My daughter and I played through RE5 like a billion times back in the day. We thought it was great (me having played, owned, and still owning all of the mainline RE games and some of the spinoffs). I'm shocked to see how many people here liked it. At the time people seemed to hate it--though it did garner the best sales in the series, I think.

Not only the best sales in the series, but the highest-grossing Capcom game of all time.

I think Resident Evil 5 has some scarrier moments with certain enemies who can kill you with one hit

Hmm, I see. Fair enough. Personally, I found the enemies to be a little too weird to be afraid of them. I'd say the extra part with Jill and Chris was scarier than the rest of the game.

so the chainsaw guy and the giant insicts werent scarry to you?

Oh yeah! That was super creepy. When I played that I wondered why the rest of the game couldn't be like that.

It was even better when you switch it to the old school camera style. Felt very much like the original remake of RE1, and it was aaawweesooooome.
