Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Twilight Princess HD is pretty "pretty"

I only beat the first dungeon but this is too fun.

Remember when we thought how uninspired the trailer and footage of the game was? Honestly, it kinda is uninspired still. Most of the models are the same with extra textures and the world has better dynamic lighting. But god damn, do these little things make a big difference overall in person. When was the last game you thought would suck graphically but looked much better in person?

Meh... it kinda looks aged to me. WWHD and MM3D are still more impressive.

I wonder if you are actually regretting your purchase and this thread is an attempt to justify it.

This game already works perfect on the Wii U emulator:

Never played TP before I played TPHD. At least not in a meaningful way. I thought it was excellent and I thought that the graphics were fantastic.

The game's absolutely great, that's out of the question, but this remaster is hit or miss. I agree the game didn't get the remaster/remake it deserved like the other games did. They should have waited a generation more and brought something that was a real step up.

The remaster has it's moments, it looks good when some more spectacular lighting's involved, like you showed or like in a cave when having the lantern out. The sections with more elaborate texturework or more inspired designs to them als look good like Snowpeak. A lot of other places look aged now though, rocky areas really needed some more depth. The forests and fields really needed some better shading. The remaster's performance is also worse than the original for some reason. There's slowdown in plenty of areas where there was none in the original. Besides the Ghost Lantern they didn't add or improve anything to the gameplay of the base game, which is also too bad.

All in all I'd say it's "okay", but a missed opportunity for sure.

Last sentence explains every 3ds game ever made

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Looks good enough for me but then again, I'm not much of a stickler for graphics.

I love the way TP HD looks. Having been disappointed by the trailer, I was certainly not disappointed by the game in that (or any other) sense.

The development of this emulator is uncanny.
