Out of the games I have for my 3DS Id recommend, Bravely Default :) people also recommended FE awakening to me and I played it for a while but It was nothing special. I have a couple of other Jrpgs in my collection but I haven't gotten around to trying them since my gf took my 3ds a few months ago to play Pokemon xD

But why? What does the Vita have that the 3DS doesnt outside of the Uncharted game?

imo better jrpgs and just a generally getting console to use. When I play the 3DS after playing the Vita it always feels like im playing some cheap console. Probably just personal preferance though and I know alot of people probably wont agree with me :)

I basically second hershel_laytons list, but I have a few additions.

He mentions the Professor Layton trilogy and Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney, but not the Ace Attorney series itself. You can get the original trilogy remastered on the eshop for 29$ (I think) but it goes on sale often and you can probably get it for 15$. There's also the newest game Dual Destinies, wich is imo one of the best of the series.

I'd also like to recommend Zelda a link between worlds. It's a select title, so you can get it cheaply and it's one of the best handheld Zeldas.

Be sure to check out the virtual console as well. The prices can be a little steep but there's a lot of gems on there.

I don't know, I think this should be played if you have already played Persona 3 and 4, and like the gameplay of Etrian Odyssey.

Shin Megami Tensei IV (must)
SMT Devil Survivor Overclocked and Record Breaker - love these two
Both Fire Emblem games cause yes.
Stella Glow (hidden gem. Great game)
Bravely Default and Second. Both awesome.
If you like strategy, definitely get Codename STEAM. IMO the most under rated new ip this gen.
Yokai Watch is fun as well as the Pokemon games.
The 3DS also has Monster Hunter titles.

I mean seriously the 3DS is amazing. Also Kid Icarus Uprising. Looooove that one.
