Forums - Nintendo Discussion - cycycychris reviews: Lost Reavers (Wii U)

Sounds like a game that could have been great but they shoved it out before it had enough content or enough polish. Shame, could have been like a Japanese Warframe. But that's what you get for having no patience and getting greedy with your microtransactions.

The 3rd image reminds me of Lament of Innocence.

How did you like it?

Well the shooting is terrible, and i remember a lack of sprint when theres a big diamond thingon your back. But fir a free to play game its worth playing and trying out. Ill probably give it another go sometime.

There are about 12 billion games on PC in the same category and about half of them look better than this game.  If a herd of small indie teams can do better, so can Bandai Namco.  There isn't much excuse for this kind of effort.

Yeah, this game is a hot mess, and just broken sometimes. I'm surprised you didn't mention how the game can randomly screw you over with over spawning runners to overwhelm and kill the whole team. I think it happened a few times with us.

The game really could use more levels, otherwise it just gets very boring playing the same 2 levels. If it had like at least 5, it would be better, and leveling just takes too long at around lvl 30. I think in our long recent playthrough, I only got one level, and we played for a good while...

Surprisingly though, there were some shining moments, like when we had to beat those 2 undead cops grouped together while avoiding runners. We had a good team as well, haha...

There is def something good in this mess if more time was put into the game. At least there was another level added to the Japanese version, so we should get it at some point. And having a good full team makes for a better time, as opposed to way under leveled babies...

And I would 2nd recommend NEVER spending money on this game. It is not worth it at all.

My main issues (at least with the Beta demo) are the same as yours but I would add gameplay, map layout and stages to the minus as well :p

Bad frame rate totally kills it for me.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I thought about adding in runners, but it was already over 2,000 words and that was a bit of a smaller issue compared to everything else. That did happen once maybe twice to us with the runners. I believe we played for 2 hours and you made 1 level and I'm not even half way I beleive. The progress has slowed to a crawl. I imagine with four star mission it might go faster, but that'll take so long to get too that its not work worrying about.

The mini bosses are always the best... well, other than the fireman, he's kind of boring. But 2 chefs, my lord is that intense. i was really hoping they'd throw 2 of them at us.

Theres fun to be had, and I still find some enjoyment when I still play. But I imagine that my time with this game will be getting less and less. I just have hit the brick wall that, its not possible to get better weapons now and paying for them is not an option either. I thought about adding $10 and giving it another go with that sword. But man, I was not willing to waste more money on this. Complete bullshit that I need to spend atleast $20 to get a sword. And thats after I grinded away to get 400 disks.

If you ever want to play, let me know though, we make a great team.

The issue with the runners is that it only happens... sometimes. I feel like the number of them spawning is random, and sometimes you're just very unlucky and get a bunch at once. I the latter happens to me more often and just gets really annoying.

I'm surprised we didn't really get 2 chefs as well. The other session I had, most of the time, it was 2 of them. This game is just really random overall... I think I'll end up having shorter sessions with this as well, since leveling to 4 start missions will take a long while. There's also another issue I recall with the game. Later on, when you level up the game gives you so few points to use in the skill tree. The level I got gave me 2 points, which let me upgrade 1 thing, and there are a lot of things you can upgrade. Makes it hard to branch out into other different skills that would be nice to have.

I'm sure there are other issues, but I can't think of any at the moment. But yeah, I'm down for more later. The rounds we had were overall pretty great, and we had some great, but weird partners, like one of them focusing on guns with Sayuri. That's such a weird thing to do with that character.

I honestly think they are well balanced.

If you play as a Victoria and accidently out of ammo - you useless till the end of the fight. I can't call it "well balanced".

My thoughts that originally developers was promised by some support from Nintendo. IIRC Ninty promoted this game on E3 2014 and in several Directs. But after sudden Wii U death they don't care anymore about Lost Reavers. Neither Bamco.
