Gaming streaming devices, yay or nay?

Yay! 13 18.31%

Nay... 58 81.69%

Total:71

I'm still seeing the same problems when discussing this. People really do need to stop seeing this through the eyes of a console gamer and start realising it's about distribution. When one of the companies finally do this they won't give a damn about how many consoles they sell, in fact it won't even enter their heads. Once you free your IPs from the limitations of your branded hardware, the sky's the limit and every single device capable of displaying a good image (that receives capable broadband) becomes your new customer base. It's the future without a doubt and it's nothing to do with that silly thing called a console.

How long it takes to get there is another question.

The PS5 Exists.

No, because my internet is awful. This wouldn't go over well in markets/countries where the best option for internet still isn't good enough.

I see a hybrid of streaming and digital downloads. Like a spotify of gaming rather than Netflix.

Yeah, I'm down with it.

Nay. GPUs are advancing at a very fast rate, but our Internet infrastructure is at a snail's pace. By the time cloud gaming is ready with the Internet infrastructure it needs to function properly, there'll be GPUs in our phones several times more powerful than a PS4. We're better off advancing hardware to be more powerful and more efficient than to bother with cloud gaming.

No for me

but maybe later in the future if it gets better

If the consumer doesnt want it, it doesnt matter what the "companies" that want to provide the tech want.

Also VR is the future of gameing most likely.

Its extreamly sensitive to input lag..... something streaming games over the net introduces tons of compaired to physical owned hardware.

Pretty much this, it is going to happen. However the next stage was supposed to be digital, gaming might have to leapfrog that stage, and go into streaming. Physical will die or die down (happened to just about every medium). Still say we are still ways off seeing how horrible experiences I had with PSNow, in terms of it being perfect smoothless, without dips of quality, I have 200Mbps/10Mbps connection.

Yeah, this is like the cardtridge vs disc debate where most deny the fact that digital would usurp both either way. I also believe streaming will become the norm.

For consoles, I could go for it right now, but I prefer the tinkering and customization of the PC for now.
