The thing is people have been playing them at shows, and I've yet to hear/read of poor performance.

Yeah, I'm sure the rumor is unfounded. Doesn't hurt to wait for release and see for myself though.

I'm confused though. Why would you forget (or ignore) the hundreds of videos showing it working and the hundreds of articles and video of positive previews in favour of ONE articloe that completely flies in the face of everything that's been said thus far? It can't 'run' poorly. That would make people sick.

There's nothing wrong with someone being cautious.

Waiting for hardware reviewers to test stuff outside a controlled environment is the best thing to do in most situations.

Good to hear.

It's quite obvious that on regular PS4 it will have to run sending half of the total pixels and polygons it can produce to each eye. This means that a game running at 1080p maxing out regular PS4 would run at ~760p per eye in VR. With some optimizations, it could probably run at a higher res, as each couple of frames of VR is a different projection of the same scene, so a lot of the input of the GPU is the same for both, saving bandwidth and lowering the graphics RAM miss rate, so allowing the GPU to run closer to its ideal performances and reducing framerate drops.
