Final Fantasy V is seen as unpopular but I love it to death. It was the first game I bought with my own money and around that time I was really getting into JRPGS for the first time. I guess I have a slight bias but who doesn't right?

If Crisis Core doesn't come under '7' in-general, then my pick would likely be that.

I agree with 8, it has a lot more popularity here than overall, but 9? 9 is like bathing in love, I hardly hear anything about it that's not very, very positive XP |
Yeah that's what I was gonna say. I get keeping 8 in the popular list just to encourage variety in the responses but 9 is almost unanimously loved!
You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt! I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading. After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!
Definitely FF XII, one of my favourite RPGs. Love the open world structure and the battle system.

It is my outright favourite FF, but the only ever person I've known to even like it was one of my mates, we both played it to death when it first came out. Still go back from time to time, one of the few games I still do. |
Had this been any other website 8 would have been an option. But as I said in the OP, I'm also partially basing this list on VGC as well. On VGC FF8 has a pretty large fanbase -on this website it would be "popular". Thats why it is excluded
XII if it counts.
The best voice acting so far, the best NPC characters like Doctor Cid etc (shame about the lead"villian") and some amazing art that the PS2 hardware struggled to keep up with.
Nautilus said: You kinda limited the options there, but from the ones that I can choose, I think FF5 is the best one.Has the better story from all of them, and the more refined battle system too. |
Well I guess it should be more clear most FF spin-offs are also fair game
