When I say unpopular, I'm referring to both the good and (sometimes) infamous FF titles. FF games I'm going to exclude due to popularity on this site/in general: FF1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 13 (its sequels are fair game), Tactics on PS1/GBA, and Dissidia -any other Final Fantasy, main series or spin-off are fair game to pick

Personally, I love Final Fantasy 3 a lot. It's flawed but I still replay it all the time XD plus it has one of the best OSTs in classic FF (imo)

NOTE: When I'm using "popular" Im using a set of rules I created specifically for this thread which were; how often its cited in threads, how often it comes up in FF threads/"best" threads, and the general consensus but this site and many others have cited or ignored certain titles in the series. Obviously using "unpopular" its fairly subjective, but as stated this is how I'm using it in the context of this thread

FF12. Not only it's my fav "unpopular" Final Fantasy game, but I also consider it among the top 3 best FF ever.
I don't see why 13 should be excluded considering how unpopular and criticized it is.

Most definitely 4. The story is amazing and the characters are awesome. I love that game so much.

As I said in the OP, it's due to it's infamy and how often it comes up. Like it is probably THE most talked about FF. As a subject it is a popular topic in the community -how it is regarded is not the point. I guess it would be better to say "obscure" or "forgotten" but even then it wouldnt fit the context of what I was attempting to get across. At least with unpopular people have a good idea of what I'm trying to say

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD has a lot of cool stuff going its way. The opening and ending cutscenes are awesome. If you're sure you won't ever play the game I would suggest watching them.

I'm pretty sure 3's the first FF game I really got into, and I really liked it. Very hard, though

FFXII is the only game I enjoyed not there and I consider it the best than most of those games that are listed.

Am I the only one that thinks Mystic Quest was cool?

I mean, it's not too much of a challenge, but the use of weapons and jumps to solve puzzles was a very neat addition.
