You dont mess with perfection!
I mean they have a winning formula... dont mess around too much with it.

I hope they take small steps if they decide to change things up.

I think this game will have a lot of changes, hopefully for a greater good.

I don't exactly get filled with joy from the line "Zelda U/NX will have elements from Triforce Heroes." If anything any Zelda game should stay away from anything from that stain on the franchise.

Anyway ignoring that little slip-up, it seems the new game is everything the fans have been asking for so from what we've seen and heard, I'm excited. They could have made this guessing game a whole lot easier though by just saying the game is more or less the original NES Zelda in 3D...

I kinda just want voice acting really. Seems really old fashioned to be still relying on text only. I know I know, it leaves it up to player imagination etc. Also the whole wake up in a tree/shed and then slog through the same find sword/shield blah blah needs shaking up too.

I've become so indifferent that I still haven't watched a video of Aonuma's Hyrule Field demonstration. That one was in late 2014, I think.

"Rethinking conventions" was also said before Skyward Sword, but in the end it was still very familiar. The most notable changes to the world design can be traced back to the decision to include a bird, but that wasn't unlike how the boat shaped The Wind Waker's world.

The biggest rethinking of conventions would be to make a game about killing stuff, rather than asking which puzzles could be implemented. But Triforce Heroes wasn't made with such a mindset, so I am not confident that Zelda U will shift its focus to combat.

Not really as the's a bit more to the world design than that, it was more compact but Metroid like with new paths opening in areas you returned, that was quite a significant change in approach for the Zelda experience.

Lets face it. A few things is going to change, but it will still be a traditional Zelda game. Open world and doing dungeons in whatever order you want is not anything groundbreaking...

We don't know anything about the game to know if the design is groundbreaking or not...

We know the history of the Zelda franchise. The fact that nothing groundbreaking has happened in that series for about 20 years tell us something.

Well that's your opinion and it's not shared by a lot of people, i mean, A link between world was 3 years ago and according to critics and fans is one of the best zeda games ever made, so I can't respect your opinion but if you have your reasons then you have your reasons. btw majora's mask according to your opinion, was not groundbreaking, wind waker was not groundbreaking so yeah, zelda is not for you i guess. Now we can agree to disagree and we can move on.

They werent grounbreaking, no. What did they do that no game before them did? or how did they improve upon the Zelda formula?
