I don't know if this has changed since then, but that link (dated march 17, 2016) pretty clearly states that it has not been cancelled.

That was the problem. It was all cutscenes, there was no actual game running like that, it got so messy and complicated Sony actually dropped the support on it, maybe that's what got some people confused that it was cancelled, as it was not.
Really dunno what to expect from Rime after knowing that, was also really excited for it.

Yeah it looked very promising. Hopefully they're still going to make an actual game from it although this sounds very damning.

Perhaps Sony dropped out because they saw another TLG development hell on the horizon. Maybe this will get the devs to actually produce something that works now they fully own the IP and don't have the luxury anymore of dining on Sony's money.

Clearly what's happened is he got pissed off at Sony for insisting he moved it over to the PS4, eventually after he'd taken all he could he broke free to create his own studio. Sony then approached him to negotiate. Becuase he'd had time to gather his thoughts, he decided to finish the game alongside Sony. Having done that he realised it wasn't such a bad partnership afterall and it was only the stress that made him unhappy.

I don't think so... I mean, I don't really think Ueda was still planning to release a PS3 exclusive 2016...

It happened a lot earlier than that, game was already moved to PS4 as far back as 2013, who knows which year it actually was decided

That last video reminds me of how even people that are hyped are so unaware of things.. Loled when a couple days ago someone on gaf asked if the EDGE screenshots showed the UI. And the people that thought a part of the text meant we'd visit the boy's village. This is almost like a "Star wars fan" not knowing what the Force is
