I also worked in an old people's home where I witnessed elderly people getting ignored whilst pleading for the toilet and had to listen to them crying for attention while the staff took the long way around to avoid them. Those cigarette breaks are essential! I didn't last there long either because I refuse to walk passed a person in distress when a simple word and a little time can solve the problem. That sucks..... it's just sad how mean ppl can be to eachother. I'm definitely no saint tho and you have my respect for being able to deal with old ppl and disabled people.... I doubt I have the stomach for it mostly cause I find myself feeling too bad for them if that makes sense. I think such an environment will just depress me lol.
