It said 1/2 of Wii by the end of 2019. That could mean there at most expecting the NX to sell around 21.5m by 2019. They also said 120% of Wii u by 2019 assuming they mean the Wii u by the end of 2014 that means GameStop is expecting the NX to sell somewhere between 10-21.5m by 2019.

And in the same infographic someone is predicting VR gonna deliver over $13bn in the USA? Ooookaaaay.

Also not that the estimate for NX ranges from 120% of Wii U through to 50% of Wii. The interesting thing is that the market analysts think NX's potential is just 50% of the Wii's achievement, when most people are thinking that NX will be serving both the home console and handheld markets, doing just 50% of Wii's revenues, on a product that likely will launch at a higher price than Wii, selling into the traditional handheld and home console user bases is not a terribly exciting outcome.

Or it could not.

The key word to note here is "potential".

These aren't projections or estimates based on actual NX data.

It's just what the NX could do if it was to perform like the two scenario's noted above.

If anything that data above is more about how the Wii did compared to the Wii U and how drastic the difference between the two was.


So don't use this as some sort of measure of how NX will actually do at all. Don't read into it at all.

Wow, where's that enthusiasm come from? Did he get some exclusive scoop, or did someone slip happy stuff into his drink?

Those are some optimistic projections... I'm curious how optimistic theirs were for the Wii U.

20 million in two years would certainly be a success given Nintendo's present situation heh, I'm really not sure what demographics they appeal to anymore outside of lifelong fans like myself.
