We got numbers only a couple months ago. We were told 36 million in January, so it means they're off by 20%.

"400,000,000 PS5's were sold as of last week."

"Oh the numbers here aren't THAT off. Just 2% who cares?"

Percentage differences at this point are useless to bring up. The fact is that this site will have been off by nearly 1 million by the time it got updated to May 22.

I wonder if you guys would be this technical if Xbox One was over tracked by a bit but I guess we'll never know because Microsoft will never release their numbers too bad

Of course people would. It happens all the time in NPD threads. What's the point in having numbers if they aren't correct, especially when you have actual data to show they aren't. 

40M sold through so how much shipped? 42M?

Too high. They were at 40m shipped 2 months ago, and they shipped 2.3m last quarter. There also wouldn't be so many units in stock during this time. This quarter is almost always lower than Q1, so at this point they are probably still closer to 41m than 42m shipped.

So 6 million for the first 4 and a bit months of the year. Incredible sales. This train ain't stopping anytime soon
